Abstract

【課題】主記録層と連続層との間に強化層を設け、その新たな組成によって、磁気記録媒体のS/N比を向上させ、記録にじみを減少させることを目的とする。 【解決手段】 本発明における垂直磁気記録媒体100は、基体110上に主記録層122、強化層124、連続層126をこの順に備える垂直磁気記録媒体100であって、強化層124は、グラニュラー構造を有し、強化層124の飽和磁化Msが主記録層122の飽和磁化より高いことを特徴としている。
