Abstract

【課題】従来の蓄電池と同程度のコストの原材料を特に二次電池の正極板に用いることにより、活物質の利用率を向上させ高エネルギー密度が得られる正極組成物を提供する。 【解決手段】二次電池用正極組成物が、金属及び該金属の酸化物を含む活物質原料と、前記活物質原料1モルに対し全吸油量が9.6ミリリットル以上となる量のカーボンとを含有する混練物であり、格子状集電体に充填され乾燥された後の未化成状態であるときの嵩密度が2.2×10-1ミリリットル/グラム以上であり、カーボンがアセチレンブラック及び/又はファーネスカーボンである。混練物がさらに硫酸を含有することが好適である。水とカーボンで混練して生成された一次混練物に対し、鉛粉と水とを加えてさらに混練して混練物を得る。硫酸を含有する場合は、一次混練物に対して加える。
