Abstract

　本発明の切削インサートは、略多角形状の上面と、下面と、逃げ面を有した側面と、上面と側面との交差部に形成された切刃と、を有している。前記切刃は、第１切刃と、第２切刃と、第１切刃と第２切刃との間に位置し前記略多角形の角部に位置する第３切刃と、を有している。前記逃げ面は、前記第１切刃に対応する第１逃げ面と、前記第２切刃に対応する第２逃げ面と、を有している。前記第１逃げ面は、前記第１切刃と接続する上逃げ面と、該上逃げ面の前記下面側に位置する中逃げ面と、該中逃げ面の前記下面側に位置する下逃げ面と、を有している。前記上逃げ面の逃げ角をα、前記中逃げ面の逃げ角をβ、前記下逃げ面の逃げ角をγ、前記第２逃げ面の逃げ角をεとしたとき、前記α，β，γおよびεが、α＜β＜γ＜εの関係を満足する。この切削インサートを装着した切削工具およびそれを用いた切削方法である。
