Abstract

 3層以上の情報層を備え、再生時のクロストークを抑制しつつ従来よりも情報層の厚さ方向の設置密度を高めることが可能である光記録媒体及びその再生方法を提供する。光記録媒体10は、基板12と、第1情報層14と、第1スペーサ層16と、第2情報層18と、第2スペーサ層20と、第3情報層22と、基板12よりも薄いカバー層24と、を有する3層構造であり、これらの層がこの順で基板12の上に配置され、第1情報層14の反射率をR1、第2情報層18の反射率をR2、第3情報層22の反射率をR3として次の式(I)を満足し、  (R2×R3×R2)/R1≦0.0032 式(I) 第1スペーサ層16の厚さと第2スペーサ層20の厚さとが等しい。
