Definitions

  • the present invention refers to a locking system for changing needles on railway tracks, which has, among other features, greater stability and operational safety, as well as ease of assembly and disassembly, also requiring minimal maintenance. This invention is also applicable to the crossing of the movable tip.
  • Rail traffic requires lanes that move (mobile lanes or needles) for circulations to pass from one road to another, as well as moving points that move from one position to another, synchronously with the needles. Due to the requirement of these mobile lanes, the railway diversion is one of the most dangerous road sections, where the risk of derailment is high. To minimize these risks, the mobile rails (needles) must be perfectly fixed in their final positions, without being affected by vibrations and blows caused by the circulation.
  • the locking system for changing needles on railway tracks and the crossing of the moving tip, object of the invention has to achieve a synchronous movement of the two needles, and also, once the force is positioned and disappeared that has driven them, you must keep them in that position, without being affected by vibrations and blows caused by the circulation.
  • Each body is suspended from the skate of the counter-needle (fixed rail), by means of a tie down by staples, which avoids the need to drill said rail in order to fix a bolt.
  • An appendix is attached to the needle (mobile rail) that is fixed to the skate of the same with a single hole. Dilation due to changes in the temperature of the needle causes the displacement of the needle with respect to the appendix, but the bolt allows it since it has been foreseen that the bolt-needle joint is made by means of a rotating sheave through which the push and drag of the needle is carried out.

  • the piece that produces the locking mechanism is a roller that moves between two fixed positions where it fits and during its movement mechanically joins two different parts: sliding and barrel, as we will see later in relation to the figures.

If you want to ensure that the needle is not locked in the open position, just make an adjustment in this direction without having to change any part, only with the regulation.
  • the drive system for changing the needles can be of the hydraulic type and in this case the slide-bar assembly will act as a hydraulic cylinder when receiving fluid from the outside. As the maneuvering and retention efforts do not usually exceed 900 Kg, a low pressure circuit can be used.

  • the needle is locked in both positions (open and closed) or only in a closed position, the bolt can be talonable, to the liking of the railway administration. - The dilations of the lanes are not affected.

  • This second roller By using this second roller, the distance that the needle moves to 160 mm is increased and also a smoothness and precision in the mechanism is achieved as we had said before.
  • the two horizontal rollers set the closing and opening positions of the corresponding needle.
  • the closing position is obtained with the barrel in the retracted position and the closing roller (the rear or outermost of the assembly) being advanced with respect to the posterior recess of the barrel and within the posterior recess of the box. If the barrel is advanced to change the needles, the closing roller falls into the posterior recess of said barrel and simultaneously the opening roller is forced by the barrel to move by dragging the slide until it reaches the front recess of the box, when this opening roller is forced to exit the barrel recess and stay in the front recess of the box. Further advancing the barrel the block is reached and maintained in the maximum separation of the needle from the counter-needle.
  • This arrangement of recesses and two rollers determines a very smooth and safe operation in both positions.
  • This tightening roller is mounted horizontally and can be moved vertically by rolling on a vertical plate of the appendix, thus solving the problems of needle dilation, since the carrier support of the spring of cymbals includes a coaxial annular piece of free rotation in the slide and with a radial arm that materializes the thrust piece.
  • the solidarity needle attachment includes a lower extension where a horizontal roller is mounted that is capable of being placed under a projection of the box thus immobilizing the needle in the closed position. It is also provided that in order to facilitate the movements of raising and lowering the horizontal opening and closing rollers during the forward or backward movement of the barrel, the recesses of the barrel are torn, therefore having greater amplitude than those of the box which are semi-cylindrical In this way the roller driven by the slider can easily fall into the rear recess of the barrel, while the opening roller is rising more easily when the front recess of the box is reached, in the advance of the barrel to reach the Open locked position.
