Abstract

   本発明は、グルコースのヒドロキシメチル基を特異的に酸化する能力に優れた微生物及びこの微生物を用いてグルコースの直接酸化によりグルクロン酸及び/又はグルクロノラクトンを製造する方法を提供することを課題とするものであり、本発明は、グルコースから直接グルクロン酸を生成する微生物であって、グルコースのヒドロキシメチル基を特異的に酸化する能力を有し、16SrRNAに対応するDNAの塩基配列が、配列表の配列番号1に記載の塩基配列を有する変異菌株、及び当該変異菌株を用い、グルコースのヒドロキシメチル基を特異的に酸化してグルクロン酸及び/又はグルクロノラクトンを製造する方法であり、本発明により、D-グルクロン酸及び/又はD-グルクロノラクトンを、高収率、廉価、容易、且つ安全に製造し、提供することが可能である。
