Abstract

 電気信号として入力されたデータ信号に応じた光信号を出力する発光部、および発光部の駆動電源を制御する第1の電源制御部を含む光送信処理部と、光送信処理部から導入された光信号を伝送する光伝送路と、光伝送路から出力される光信号を受信して光信号に応じた電気信号を出力する受光部、および受光部の駆動電源を制御する第2の電源制御部を含む光受信部とを備える光伝送モジュールであって、光送信処理部と光受信処理部とを接続し、発光部および受光部への電力供給を制御する制御信号を、第1および第2の電源制御部に伝送する電気伝送路を少なくとも1つ備え、第1および第2の電源制御部は、電気伝送路を介して入力される制御信号に基づいて、発光部および受光部への電力供給を制御する。これにより、待機時の消費電力を低減できる光伝送モジュールを提供することができる。
