Abstract

　この発明は、内燃機関の排気浄化装置に関し、排気通路上に上流側から水分吸着材およびＮＯｘ吸着材を備える内燃機関において、水分によってＮＯｘの吸着能力が阻害させるのを好適に回避し、ＮＯｘ吸着材のＮＯｘ吸着能力を十分に確保することを目的とする。 　内燃機関１０から排出された排気ガスが流れる主排気通路（１４）を備える。主排気通路（１４）を迂回するバイパス通路（２０）を備える。バイパス通路（２０）に、上流側接続部（２０a）に近い側から順に、水分吸着材（２４）およびＮＯｘ吸着材（２８）を備える。水分吸着材（２４）からの水分の脱離が開始されたと判断した時点で、排気ガスがＮＯｘ吸着材（２８）に流入しないように切替バルブ（２２）を制御する。
