Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'une cible de pulvérisation qui comprend les étapes consistant à faire fondre une matière cible métallique; à contrôler la température de la matière cible fondue d'une manière telle que la matière cible fondue ne subit presque pas de surchauffe; à introduire la matière cible fondue dans un moule dont les parois intérieures formant une cavité de moule identique à la forme de la cible désirée; et à solidifier la matière cible fondue dans le moule par extraction de la chaleur de celui-ci à une vitesse permettant de la solidifier pour former une cible de pulvérisation ayant une microstructure non dendritique cellulaire de façon uniforme à travers toute la cible. L'invention concerne une cible de pulvérisation comprenant une matière cible métallique ayant une microstructure non dendritique cellulaire, sensiblement équiaxe, de façon uniforme à travers toute la cible.
