Description
Verfahren zur Reinigung von Caprolactam, hergestellt aus Lysin
Beschreibung
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Reinigung von Caprolactam, hergestellt aus Lysin.
Ein Verfahren zur Reinigung von Caprolactam hergestellt aus Cyclohexanonoxim mit Ionenaustauschern ist beispielsweise aus der US-A-5,245,029 bekannt.
Aus der WO-A-2005/123669 ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Caprolactam aus Lysin durch Erhitzen von L-Lysin in einem Lösungsmittel und anschließende Deaminie- rung bekannt sowie deren Umsetzung zu „Nylon 6".
Nachteilig an den zuvor genannten Verfahren ist, dass das dabei erhaltene Caprolactam nicht in Polyamid 6 mit hohem Molekulargewicht umgesetzt werden kann.
Der vorliegenden Erfindung lag daher die Aufgabe zugrunde, den zuvor genannten Nachteilen abzuhelfen.
Demgemäß wurde ein neues und verbessertes Verfahren zur Reinigung von Caprolactam, hergestellt aus Lysin, gefunden, welches dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, dass man das Caprolactam mit einer Säure oder einem sauren Ionenaustauscher behandelt sowie die Verwendung zur Herstellung von hochmolekularem Polyamid (Polyamid 6).
Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren kann wie folgt durchgeführt werden:
Das eingesetzte Caprolactam stammt aus der Umsetzung von Lysin und anschließenden Deaminierung. Man kann Caprolactam einsetzen, das nach den Verfahren der WO-A-2005/123669 herstellt wurde. Dieses Caprolactam kann in Lösung oder als Schmelze, bevorzugt in Lösung gereinigt werden.
Zur Reinigung verwendet man Säuren oder saure Ionenaustauscher.
In der Regel kann man die Reinigung bei Temperaturen von (-10) bis 200°C und einem Druck von 0,1 bis 200 bar durchführen.
Liegt das Caprolactam als Schmelze vor, kann die Behandlung oberhalb des Schmelzpunktes, bevorzugt bei einer Temperatur von 70 bis 200°C, besonders bevorzugt 70 bis 140°C und einem Druck von 0,1 bis 200 bar, bevorzugt 0,5 bis 100 bar, besonders bevorzugt Normaldruck (Atmosphärendruck) durchgeführt werden.
Wird das Caprolactam gelöst, kann die Behandlung bei einer Temperatur von (-10) bis 200°C, bevorzugt 20 bis 150°C, besonders bevorzugt 20 bis 120°C und einem Druck von 0,1 bis 200 bar, bevorzugt 0,5 bis 100 bar, besonders bevorzugt Normaldruck (Atmosphärendruck) durchgeführt werden.
Wird bei einer Temperatur oberhalb des Siedepunktes von Caprolactam oder des Lösungsmittel gearbeitet, so wird die Reinigung in der Regel unter erhöhtem Druck von 1 ,1 bis 200 bar, bevorzugt 1 ,5 bis 100 bar, besonders bevorzugt 2 bis 50 bar durchgeführt.
Als Lösungsmittel eignen sich Wasser, Alkohole wie d- bis C2o-Alkanole, beispielsweise Methanol, Ethanol, n-Propanol, Iso-Propanol, n- Butanol, Butanol-Isomere, n- Pentanol, Pentanol-Isomere, n-Hexanol, Hexanol-Isomere, n-Octanol und Octanol- Isomere, Ester wie C2- bis C2o-Alkylester, beispielsweise Ethylacetat, Ketone wie C2- bis C2o-Ketone, beispielsweise Aceton und Methylethylketon, Chlorkohlenwasserstoffe wie d- bis C2o-Chlorkohlenwasserstoffe, beispielsweise Methylenchlorid, Chloroform und Tetrachlorkohlenstoff, Alkane wie C5- bis C2o-Alkane, beispielsweise n-Pentan, Pentan-Isomere, n-Hexan, Hexan-Isomere, n-Octan oder Isomere, Alkene wie C5- bis C2o-Alkene, Aromaten wie Benzol, Toluol, o-Xylol, m-Xylol und p-Xylol oder Gemische dieser Lösungsmittel, bevorzugt Wasser, Toluol, Ethylacetat, Methylethylketon, Cyclo- hexanon oder deren Gemische.
Die Behandlung mit Säure kann kontinuierlich oder diskontinuierlich, bevorzugt kontinuierlich durchgeführt werden.
Das Molverhältnis von Caprolactam zur Säure oder zum sauren Ionenaustauscher beträgt in der Regel 5:1 und 10000:1 , bevorzugt 500:1 und 5000:1.
Eine bevorzugte Form ist die Verwendung einer festen Säure, besonders bevorzugt Ionenaustauscher mit sauren Gruppen. Die Säuregruppen können Sulfonsäuren, Phosphorsäuren oder Carbonsäuren sein.
Die Säure kann auch als Lösung in einem Zweiphasensystem eingesetzt werden. Bevorzugt kann dazu ein wasserunlösliches Lösungsmittel wie Ester wie C2- bis C20- Alkylester, beispielsweise Ethylacetat, Ketone wie C2- bis C2o-Ketone, beispielsweise Aceton und Methylethylketon, Aromaten wie Benzol, Toluol, o-Xylol, m-Xylol und p- XyIoI oder Gemische dieser Lösungsmittel, bevorzugt Toluol, Ethylacetat, Methylethylketon oder deren Gemische mit der ersten Komponente und eine wässrigen Lösung der zweiten Komponente verwendet.
Die Säuren können Feststoffe, Flüssigkeiten oder Gase sein und bei den gewählten Reinigungsbedingungen in einem der drei Aggregatzustände vorliegen. Die sauren lonentauscher liegen - in der Regel - als Feststoffe vor.
Als Säure eignen sich anorganische oder organische Säuren wie Schwefelsäure, Salzsäure, Phosphorsäure, Salpetersäure, salpetrige Säure, Kohlensäure, Kieselsäure, Hyperchlorige Säure, Perchlorsäure, Amidosulfonsäure, Essigsäure, Ameisensäure, Propionsäure, Sulfonsäure, Sulfonige Säure, Methansulfonsäure, Trifluormethansul- fonsäure, Citronensäure, SO2, SC^oder CO2, bevorzugt Schwefelsäure, Salzsäure, Phosphorsäure, Sulfonsäure oder deren Gemische, besonders bevorzugt Schwefelsäure, Sulfonsäure oder deren Gemische.
Die überschüssige Säure kann beispielsweise durch Entgasen oder durch Extraktion entfernt werden.
Als saure Ionenaustauscher eignen sich alle bekannten sauren Ionenaustauscher beispielsweise organische, polymerbasierende Ionenaustauscher mit Sulfonsäuren, Car- bonsäuren, Phenolen oder Phosphorsäuren, oder anorganische Ionenaustauscher wie Zeolithe und Tonmineralien. Bevorzugt werden organische Ionenaustauscher basierend auf vernetztem Polystyrol oder Phenol-Formaldehydharzen verwendet. Als bevorzugte saure Gruppe der organischen Ionenaustauscher werden Sulfonsäuren und Carbonsäuren eingesetzt, besonders bevorzugt Sulfonsäuren.
Das erfindungsgemäß gereinigte Caprolactam, hergestellt aus Lysin, kann zur Herstellung von hochmolekularem Polyamid (Polyamid 6) verwendet werden, wobei man das Caprolactam nach an sich bekannten Methoden, wie sie aus dem Kunststoffhandbuch 3/4, Technische Thermoplaste, Polyamide; Hanser Verlag, 1998, Kapitel 2.2 bekannt sind, umsetzen kann. Bevorzugt wird das Polyamid durch eine hydrolytische Polymerisation von Caprolactam hergestellt. Dazu kann das Caprolactam in Anwesenheit von Wasser bei Temperaturen zwischen 240 und 320°C polymerisiert werden.
Beispiele
Beispiel 1
Synthese von 2-Amino-caprolactam (3-Amino-azepan-2-on)
54,9 g (0,3 Mol) Lysin-Hydrochlorid, 24 g (0,3 Mol) 50 %ig wässrige Natronlauge und 480 g Ethylenglykol werden in einer Rührapparatur auf 170 - 190°C erwärmt. Innerhalb von 3 Stunden werden über eine Destillationsbrücke 51 ,7 g eines Ethylenglykol - Was- sergemischs bei Normaldruck abdestilliert. Das Destillat enthält laut Karl-Fischer- Titration 23,3 g Wasser. Durch GC-Analyse wird die Ausbeute an 2-Amino-caprolactam auf 85 % bestimmt. 2-Amino-caprolactam wird aus dem Reaktionsgemisch durch Destillation abgetrennt.
Beispiel 2
Synthese von ε-Caprolactam
19.2 g (0.15 mol) aufgereinigtes α-Amino-ε-caprolactam werden in 271.6 g Wasser gelöst und in diese Lösung innerhalb von 5.5 h insgesamt 68.0 g (0.60 mol) Hydroxyl- amin-O-sulfonsäure in Portionen von jeweils 3 g alle 15 min. eingetragen und am Ende der Zugabe für 0.5 h nachgerührt. Während der HOSA-Zugabe wird der pH-Wert durch Zudosieren von 50%iger Natronlauge mittels eines Dulcometers konstant bei pH = 10 gehalten. Der Verbrauch an 50%iger Natronlauge beträgt am Ende der Reaktion 92.7 g (46.4 g NaOH, 1.16 mol). Die Reaktionslösung wird abschließend 4 mal mit jeweils 200 ml Dichlormethan (265 g) extrahiert und die vereinigten organischen Phasen im Vakuum bei 40°C vom Lösungsmittel befreit. Erhalten werden 15.0 g (1.13 mol) eines gelben Feststoffs, der laut GC-Analytik (DB1 30m*0,25 mm*1 mm; WLD; Area%) zu mehr als 98% aus Caprolactam besteht. Die Ausbeute beträgt somit 87 % bezogen auf α-Amino-ε-caprolactam. Über GC-Massenspektrometrie werden die noch vorhandenen Verunreinigungen identifiziert und deren Konzentration bestimmt. Folgende Verbindungen lagen vor (Area%): 0,36 % 3-Amino-azepan-2-on, 0,08 % 3-Acetyl-azepan-2-on, 0,1 1 % Propan-2-on-oxim.
Beispiel 3
Reinigung von ε-Caprolactam
60 g ε-Caprolactam werden in 400 ml Dichlormethan gelöst. 20 g Amberlyst (Macrore- ticular-ion-exchange-Resin von Rohm and Haas, Funktionelle Gruppe -SO3H, Oberfläche 45 m2/g, Kapazität 4.6 meq/g) werden zugegeben und eine Stunde bei Raumtemperatur gerührt. Über GC-Massenspektrometrie werden die noch vorhandenen Verun- reinigungen identifiziert und deren Konzentration bestimmt. Folgende Verbindungen lagen vor (Area%): 0,03 % 3-Amino-azepan-2-on, 0,02 % 3-Acetyl-azepan-2-on, 0,01 % Propan-2-on-oxim.
Beispiel 4
Polymerisation von Caprolactam
Im folgenden wird ein typisches Polymerisationsbeispiel beschrieben: 25 g Caprolactam und 3,75 g Wasser wurden in einem Glasgefäß gefüllt und in einen Autoklaven gestellt. Die Autoklave wurde nach Spülen mit Stickstoff auf 260°C gebracht. Es erfolgte ein Druckanstieg auf 12 bar. Nach 30 Minuten wurde der Druck auf 1 bar gesenkt und der Ansatz wurde bei 280°C unter Stickstoffspülung 2 Stunden
gehalten. Nach Abkühlen auf Raumtemperatur wurde die Lösungsviskosität des Polyamids in 96%iger Schwefelsäure als 0,5%ige Lösung vermessen.
Beispiel 5
Polymerisation von Caprolactam aus Beispiel 2
25 g Caprolactam aus Beispiel 2 wurden wie oben beschrieben polymerisiert. Das Polymer wies eine Viskositätszahl (VZ) von 81 ml/g auf.
Beispiel 6
Polymerisation von Caprolactam aus Beispiel 3
25 g mit einer heterogenen Säure behandeltes Caprolactam aus Beispiel 3 wurden wie oben beschrieben polymerisiert. Das Polymer wies eine Viskositätszahl (VZ) von 1 13 ml/g auf.
Vergleichsbeispiel A
Polymerisation von kommerziell erhältlichem Caprolactam
25 g eines kommerziell erhältlichen Caprolactam, welches aus Benzol hergestellt wurde, wurden wie oben beschrieben polymerisiert. Das Polymer wies eine Viskositätszahl (VZ) von 120 ml/g auf.
Die Beispiele zeigen, dass eine Säurebehandlung des aus Lysin hergestellten Capro- lactams zu einem höherem Molekulargewicht und damit besseren Polymereigenschaften führt.
Claims
1. Verfahren zur Reinigung von Caprolactam, hergestellt aus Lysin, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man das Caprolactam mit einer Säure oder einem sauren Ionenaustauscher behandelt.
2. Verfahren zur Reinigung von Caprolactam, hergestellt aus Lysin nach Anspruch 1 , dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man die Reinigung bei einer Temperatur von (-10) bis 2000C durchführt.
3. Verfahren zur Reinigung von Caprolactam, hergestellt aus Lysin nach einem der Ansprüche 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man die Reinigung bei einem Druck von 0,1 bis 200 bar durchführt.
4. Verwendung des Caprolactams, hergestellt aus Lysin, gereinigt nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3 zur Herstellung von hochmolekularem Polyamid (Polyamid 6).
