Abstract
The invention relates to a building façade lining with the aid of metal covering panels placed side by side. The inventive system comprises rails (2, 2) fixed to the façade and thin metal coverings (1, 1' 1') which are placed side by side in a parallel position thereto, wherein each panel is provided with fixing elements (3, 3', 3') which are arranged on the façade faces of the panels, connected by non-through means thereto and are used for interacting with the rails. Said invention is characterised in that said interaction defines a single fixing point (3') for each panel devoid of a degree of freedom and the sliding fixing points (3, 3') allow the degrees of freedom required for the free heat expansion of the panel. The advantage of the invention lies in the obtained esthetical effect, in particular that of a flat and smooth skin based on variably shaped elements devoid of an exposed repeating structure using strips or rectangular plates such as a plate of clapboards. The inventive system is easily mounted and resists to external temperature variations.
Description
The present invention relates to building facade cladding using juxtaposed metal cladding panels.
There are already many achievements of facade cladding systems by metal panels. These systems generally aim to produce a certain aesthetic effect, but also and especially to waterproof a wall or wall.
Lesdites plaquettes sont alors fixées aux baguettes à l'aide de crochets.BE1004142 teaches a cladding system with platelet-type elements, involving rigid, generally C-shaped profiled panels, fixed horizontally along the wall to be covered. Said plates are then fixed to the rods with hooks.
Fixings, however, allow some lateral play, useful when laying juxtaposed plates. This game can also take into account the thermal expansion. The panels are therefore not immobilized laterally. Note also that this device requires significant slots between juxtaposed plates, of the order of one centimeter.
Each plate is pressed by at least one key on support profiles fixed to the wall. This system immobilizes the plates laterally, but allows a useful vertical displacement when replacing a plate. The thermal expansion and retraction or hygrometry of the elements of the device, as well as the vibrations induced by the wind, will cause more or less long term the disengagement of said key. Note also that this device requires large slots between adjacent plates, of the order of one centimeter. Unlike the prior art, the object of the invention is here primarily focused on obtaining an aesthetic effect, and less on waterproofing. Some protection of the facade against the weather remains desirable. This can be achieved by minimizing the gaps between adjacent plates.
Once the constraints due to the waterproofing partially lifted, new ways open for innovative achievements where the focus can be on a particular aesthetic effect. Provided that new and adapted technical means are implemented, it is then possible to overcome certain defects of the known systems.
The desired aesthetic effect is essentially that of a flat and smooth skin based on elements of various shapes, without apparent repetitive structure based on strips or rectangular panels such as that presented by clapboard. At the technical level, the system must be able to withstand the variations of temperatures encountered outdoors. Finally, a solution is sought that simplifies the assembly of the individual elements. It is clear that the prior art cited above does not meet these criteria at all.
The present invention, on the other hand, achieves the desired result using a building facade cladding assembly, including rails (2, 2) attached to the facade and thin metal cladding panels. (1, 1 ', 1 ") juxtaposed and placed parallel to the facade, each panel being provided on its front side face of fastening elements (3, 3', 3") secured to said panel by non-through means, said fastening elements being provided for cooperating with said rails, characterized in that this co-operation defines, for each panel:
- un unique point de fixation sans degré de liberté (3");- a single fixing point without degree of freedom (3 ");
- des points de fixation coulissants (3, 3'), permettant les degrés de liberté nécessaires à la libre expansion thermique dudit panneau.sliding fixing points (3, 3 '), allowing the degrees of freedom necessary for the free thermal expansion of said panel.
The rails can advantageously be attached to the facade in a substantially horizontal direction, defining with respect to each panel an upper rail (2) and a lower rail (2 '). The sliding fastening points are then made using one or more fastening elements (3) located on the upper part of said panel, intended to co-operate with said upper rail, and one or more fasteners (3 ') located on the lower part of said panel, intended to co-operate with said lower rail. In this case, the co-operation between fastening elements (3) and the upper rail only allows sliding along said rail, while co-operation between the fastening elements (3 ') and the lower rail allows only a parallel movement to the facade.
The fixing point without degree of freedom (3 ") is preferably obtained by locking on the upper rail of a sliding fastening element (3) This can be achieved by means of a fixed bracket, preferably by screwing, to said upper rail.
It is useful to provide a co-operation between the fastening elements and the upper rail by clipping in a substantially horizontal direction and perpendicular to the facade.
Dans ce cas, le profil du rail composite comportera:The top rail and bottom rail functions can be combined into a single rail. In this case, the profile of the composite rail will include:
In its part intended to fulfill the function of upper rail, a profile (4) having a horizontal opening directed towards the outside of said facade, provided with hooks (5, 5 ') retaining intended to close on horizontal protuberances (7, 7 ') provided in the fastening elements (3, 3 "); - in its part intended to fulfill the function of lower rail, an upwardly directed upstanding ridge (6) spaced from and parallel to said front, intended to be housed, for part of its depth, in a groove (8) horizontally open downward provided on the fastening elements (3 ').
It is finally preferable to make the fastening elements (3, 3 ', 3 ") in an electrically insulating material.
With regard to outdoor coverage, it is imperative to provide means to take into account thermal expansion. This is all the more critical as the aesthetics of the system implies a high precision assembly where any deformation would be immediately visible and would ruin the desired effect.
It is therefore useful to use panels of reasonable dimensions, juxtaposed by providing expansion slots as little visible as possible, that is to say particularly narrow.
By juxtaposed panels, it should be understood that the panels, once installed, do not interact directly; they do not touch each other. Such a contact would indeed cause internal stresses and it would inevitably follow a deformation of the panels.
Thin metal panels means sheets having a thickness of less than 5 mm, for example 1 mm. There is no need to preform them.
The system recommends the attachment of the panels along their upper edge, their lower edge can slide vertically over a distance of a few mm, ie enough to take the thermal expansion into account. As the panels are thus suspended, any risk of buckling, in particular during the implementation of particularly thin panels, is avoided.
This arrangement also ensures easy installation: the lower fasteners of the panel are initially based on the vertical edge of the lower profile, the top of the panel is then pushed horizontally to the front, and clipped on the upper profile. This clipping causes a slight translation of the panel upwards, thus partially disengaging the vertical edge of the lower profile out of the slot at the lower fasteners. It is precisely this partial clearance that allows thermal expansion in the vertical direction.
Thermal expansion in the horizontal direction is also guaranteed: the expansion propagates from the fixed attachment point which is preferably on the upper part of the panel considered. The other points of attachment, both those on the upper part and those on the lower part, have the freedom to slide horizontally.
The system allows, at least in a preferred implementation, the installation of the panels in an arbitrary order. This means that during assembly on site, it is possible to work upwards or downwards, in synchronism with the assembly or disassembly of a scaffolding. The use of a bucket elevator allows a quite arbitrary order of installation. In addition, any panel can be removed and replaced, without having to intervene on the adjacent panels.
The fastening elements are preferably made of electrically insulating material. This facilitates the choice of metals compatible for rail and panel: the electrical contact between these elements is avoided and there is therefore no formation of an electrochemical couple that can induce accelerated corrosion. Figure 1 shows an overview of the system, illustrating the use of a single profile rail (2, 2 ') for the upper and lower connections of a panel.
Figure 2a shows a type (3, 3 ") fastener normally used on the top of a panel, Figure 2b shows a fastener (3 ') normally used on the bottom.
A particular implementation uses pre-patinated zinc sheet sheets with a thickness of 1.5 mm (QUARTZ-ZINC ® ). These sheets are then cut using precision equipment, such as a digital cutting table. It is useful to limit the area of each panel thus obtained to less than 2 m 2 , this for the purpose of maneuverability during transportation and installation. The cuts are usefully arranged so that once assembled on the facade, the various panels completely cover the whole, while leaving thin expansion slots, of the order of 2 to 3 mm between the elements.
Four reinforced polyamide fasteners are normally bonded with silicone on the back of each panel.
The façade to be covered is provided with horizontal rails having a profile according to Figure 1. These rails are fixed with screws respecting a distance between rails allowing a correspondence between the upper and lower attachment points for a whole horizontal row. of panels.
Once a panel is placed, one of its upper connection points is fixed with a bracket screwed onto the rail and fitting into one of the slots (9, 9 ') provided on the fastener. This bracket prevents lateral movement but does not retain the panel along an axis perpendicular to the facade. Once this bracket is placed, the lateral blocking of the panels is done by clipping, so without any intervention at the rail. This is particularly advantageous when replacing a panel, access to the rail being then limited or impossible without the disassembly of adjacent panels.
