Abstract

Beschrieben wird eine Sonotrode (1) zum Ultraschallbearbeiten von Werkstücken, wobei die Sonotrode (1) eingangsseitig mit einem Antrieb (5) mit mindestens zwei von einem Ultraschallgenerator angeregten Ultraschallschwingeinheiten verbunden ist, vorn an der Ausgangsseite der Sonotrode mit einer schmalen und langen Bearbeitungsfläche (12) und seitlich mit mindestens einem etwa zwischen zwei Ultraschallschwingeinheiten angeordnetem Schlitz (10) versehen ist. Damit man vorn an der Ausgangsseite der Sonotrode (1) eine derart schmale und lange Bearbeitungsfläche (12) erreicht, daß die Bearbeitungsfläche eine Länge von mehr als dem Zweifachen der effektiven Bearbeitungslänge hat, so daß sie damit über das Quermaß auch eines breiteren Werkstücks hinwegreicht und die Höhe der Vorrichtung, gemessen von der vorderen Bearbeitungsfläche bis nach hinten über den Antrieb (5) nicht wesentlich größer als λ/2 wird, sieht die Erfindung vor, daß die Sonotrode (1) von ihrer Bearbeitungsfläche (12) nach hinten in Richtung ihrer Höhe (H) unter Belassung von Ausnehmungen (6) zur Aufnahme des jeweiligen Antriebs (5) einstückig bis zu ihrer hinteren, ebenen Fläche (13) ausgebildet ist, welche auf der der ausgangsseitigen Bearbeitungsfläche (12) gegenüberliegenden Eingangsseite der Sonotrode (1) etwa parallel zu der Bearbeitungsfläche (12) nahezu ebenso lang, aber breiter als letztere vorgesehen ist und daß die Außenfläche der Sonotrode (1) bis auf den mindestens einen Schlitz (10) und bis auf die in der hinteren, ebenen Fläche (13) befindlichen Öffnungen für den Zugang zu den Ausnehmungen (6) für die Antriebe (5) geschlossen ist, wobei die Gesamthöhe der Sonotrode ≤ λ/2 ist mit λ = Wellenlänge der in Richtung ihrer Höhe (H) schwingenden Welle.
