Definitions

  • TITLE Modular prefabricated for surface drainage on dirt roads
  • This invention is part of the construction materials sector.
  • the modular prefabricated object of this patent has been designed for exclusive use on roads or dirt tracks where surface degradation caused by erosion can be expected.
  • Dirt roads are used in the rural world (agricultural and forestry) and in gardening and are subject to a set of degradations caused by water that implies maintenance needs.
  • the appearance of surface watering on dirt roads is due to the erosive process of runoff water.
  • a classic solution to avoid the formation of surface springs is to give lateral fall to the water on the road, by pumping the surface thereof.
  • this constructive solution involves at least three passes of a refining machine, which is why it is often not used.
  • the products currently marketed are usually installed on the pavement with mixtures of granular materials with binders and whether cement or bituminous, which allows them to adopt a stylized shape with thin walls less than three centimeters thick. These commercialized products are usually made of resins and other synthetic materials.
  • the grid is usually made of perforated galvanized sheet, cast iron or round steel grid welded to a frame of "L" profiles.
  • the "prefabricated modular for surface drainage on dirt roads” is a block-shaped element that combines with others longitudinally to form a cut or with other modules in parallel to form a double or triple cut. This chore replaces the classic transverse drainage of the road. It is made of synthetic material or concrete, reinforced or unarmed, and is of dimensions and weight manageable by a pawn in the work without the help of machinery.
  • the invention allows the transverse evacuation of surface runoff water from a dirt road.
  • the size measures 10 to 12 cm. wide in such a way that they make road traffic invaluable. It also has a depth of 5 to 12 cm so that it prevents accidents involving livestock and wild animals.
  • the prefabricated dimensions and shape allow the assembly of some pieces with others, both longitudinally and transversely. That is why it is called a modular structure.
  • the prefabricated module has on its wall upstream of the path, some grooves, from 5 to 10 cm. in width, to allow lateral collection of runoff water. Said grooves, which can be rectangular, trapezoidal, triangular or half-round, form an angle between 30 ° and 45 ° sexagesimal with the axis of transverse symmetry of the module.
  • This inclination facilitates the direct access of the water through the groove, since the modular construction will be installed with said angle with respect to the slope of the road. It also has a projection or flap that facilitates the entry of water into the pit, while preventing the circulation of water in parallel and outside the prefabricated wall.
  • Said fin is located perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the pit, in the wall upstream of the path and between the two grooves. It measures between 5 and 10 cm. wide and 3 to 5 cm. in length, allowing runoff water to be channeled. The length of the fin can be extended if necessary with other materials in the work site.
  • the prefabricated section is designed to optimally distribute road traffic loads on roads or dirt tracks in accordance with the theory of load distribution of the pressure bulb.
  • the distribution of loads between modules so that their alignment is not lost is achieved during installation by placing them on a bed of sand, grouting them with mortar and thanks to two steel pins. This arrangement allows the articulation of one module with another so that they adapt to the deformations that occur.
  • the lower part of the module is wider than the upper part, which allows it to be buried after installation. This arrangement absorbs the moments that could cause the module to turn or tip over.
  • the solution provided consists in allowing the appearance of watering, as a way of capturing the surface water of the road that facilitates its subsequent channeling until the grooves of the prefabricated module. Once the streams have appeared, their subsequent development in terms of their erosion depth will be limited by the depth of the groove that We use the prefabricated module, which will be a minimum of two centimeters (2 cm.) and a maximum of six centimeters (6 cm.) - In this way there is never a significant deterioration, being negligible to road traffic.
  • the very circulation of the vehicles in dry weather produces a significant reduction in the rain formed in the rainy season.
  • This system for collecting runoff water favors erosion and consequent formation of sprinkles on the surface of the dirt road, with the peculiarity that said process is limited to dimensions less than six centimeters deep (6 cm.), which makes them invaluable to road traffic.

  • These notches allow to guarantee the correct distribution of the grooves in two lines of modules parallel to each other, so that there is a offset or longitudinal displacement between them of half of the length of each independent module. Its separation is such that it does not allow the circulation of water between two attached terraces, since the fin prevents it, guaranteeing that the second tap downstream collects all the overflowed water of the first.
