Abstract
硬鋼板等、硬い材質の板材をも締結することができる自己穿孔型リベット及びこれによる板材の締結構造を提供する。 本発明に係る自己穿孔型リベット1は、例えば、頭部と、該頭部の下面より延びる軸部とを備え、軸部に軸孔が形成されないか、あるいは軸部に形成される軸孔の内径が軸部の呼び径の60%以下であって且つ有効深さが軸部の長さの44%以下であることを特徴とする。本発明によれば、軸孔を小さくあるいは無くすことで、表側の板材P1の剪断部分Xは、軸部の先端部と裏側の板材P2表面との間で圧縮されて横方向に拡張し、これが先端部を包み込むようにして軸部と一体化することにより、軸部の先端部は膨径化し、締結作用を生じることとなる。
