本発明のシァニンィ匕合物は、吸収の半値幅が小さいので、画像表示に必要な光の 吸収が小さぐ本発明のシァニンィ匕合物を含有する本発明の光学フィルタ一は、表 示画像の高品質ィ匕に用いられる画像表示装置用の光学フィルタ一として特に好適な ものである。尚、本発明の光学フィルタ一は、画像表示装置用以外に、分析装置用、 半導体装置製造用、天文観測用、光通信用等の用途にも用いることができる。

[0059] 上記下塗り層は、光吸収剤を含有する光吸収層を設ける場合に、透明支持体と光 吸収層との間に用いる層である。上記下塗り層は、ガラス転移温度が— 60〜60°Cの ポリマーを含む層、光吸収層側の表面が粗面である層、又は光吸収層のポリマーと 親和性を有するポリマーを含む層として形成する。また、下塗り層は、光吸収層が設 けられていない透明支持体の面に設けて、透明支持体とその上に設けられる層(例 えば、反射防止層、ハードコート層)との接着力を改善するために設けてもよぐ光学 フィルターと画像表示装置とを接着するための接着剤と光学フィルターとの親和性を 改善するために設けてもよい。下塗り層の厚みは、 2ηπ!〜 20 mが好ましぐ 5nm 〜5 μ mがより好ましぐ 20nm〜2 μ mがさらに好ましぐ 50nm〜l μ mがさらにまた 好ましぐ 80ηπ!〜 300nmが最も好ましい。ガラス転移温度が— 60〜60°Cのポリマ 一を含む下塗り層は、ポリマーの粘着性で、透明支持体とフィルタ一層とを接着する 。ガラス転移温度が— 60〜60°Cのポリマーは、例えば、塩化ビュル、塩ィ匕ビユリデン 、酢酸ビュル、ブタジエン、ネオプレン、スチレン、クロ口プレン、アクリル酸エステル、 メタクリル酸エステル、アクリロニトリル又はメチルビ-ルエーテルの重合又はこれらの 共重合により得ることができる。ガラス転移温度は、 50°C以下であることが好ましぐ 4 0°C以下であることがより好ましぐ 30°C以下であることがさらに好ましぐ 25°C以下で あることがさらにまた好ましぐ 20°C以下であることが最も好ましい。下塗り層の 25°C における弾性率は、 l〜1000MPaであることが好ましぐ 5〜800MPaであることが さらに好ましぐ 10〜500MPaであることが最も好ましい。光吸収層側の表面が粗面 である下塗り層は、粗面の上に光吸収層を形成することで、透明支持体と光吸収層と を接着する。光吸収層側の表面が粗面である下塗り層は、ポリマーラテックスの塗布 により容易に形成することができる。ラテックスの平均粒径は、 0. 02〜3 /ζ πιであるこ と力 子ましく、 0. 05〜1 /ζ πιであることがさらに好ましい。光吸収層のバインダーポリ マーと親和性を有するポリマーとしては、アクリル榭脂、セルロース誘導体、ゼラチン 、カゼイン、でんぷん、ポリビュルアルコール、可溶性ナイロン及び高分子ラテックス 等が挙げられる。また、本発明の光学フィルターにおいては、二以上の下塗り層を設 けてもよい。下塗り層には、透明支持体を膨潤させる溶剤、マット剤、界面活性剤、帯 電防止剤、塗布助剤、硬膜剤等を添加してもよい。

<ステップ 1 >中間体 1の合成
窒素置換した反応フラスコに、インドール 0. 7g (6mmol)、水酸ィ匕カリウム 0. 5g (9 mmol)、テトラブチルアンモ-ゥムブロミド 0. 08g (0. 24mmol)及びテトラヒドロフラ ン 4gを仕込み、 60°Cで 1時間攪拌した。フエ口センブタノールトシルエステル 2. 5g ( 6mmol)を加え、 60°Cでさらに 3時間攪拌した。室温に冷却し、キシレン 75mlを加え て水層が中性になるまで水洗を行った。硫酸ナトリウムによる脱水、脱溶媒を行い、 黄色透明オイルとして目的物である中間体 1の 2. lg (粗収率 96%)を得た。 [0076] <ステップ 2>中間体 2の合成

窒素置換した反応フラスコに製造例 3のステップ 3で得られた中間体 7の 1.8g(3. 8mmol)、 5—フルォロインドール 0.51g(3.8mmol)及びブタノール 6.8gを仕込 み、 85〜90°Cで 7時間撹拌した。室温に冷却後、溶媒を留去し、カラム精製 (シリカ ゲル、アセトン:クロ口ホルム =1:3)を行った後、クロ口ホルム Z酢酸ェチル混合溶媒 から再結晶を行い、ろ過、酢酸ェチルによる洗浄、乾燥を経て、緑色固体を 1.0g( 収率 44%、 HPLC純度 100%)得た。得られた緑色固体は、目的物である化合物 N o.7であることが確認された。得られた緑色固体についての分析結果を以下に示す

上記の製造例 1で得た化合物 No. 1、製造例 2で得たィヒ合物 No. 10、並びに以下 に示す比較化合物 1及び 2につ!/、て、 20°Cでのメチルェチルケトンへの溶解性を評 価した。評価は、シァニン化合物を 0. 1〜0. 3重量%の濃度範囲で、 0.05重量% 刻みでメチルェチルケトンに加え、溶解、不溶を観察することにより行った。結果を表 1に示す。

ェチルメチルケトンと 2, 2, 3, 3—テトラフルォロプロパン 1 オールとの体積比 1 : 1の混合溶媒を用いて、表 2に記載のシァニンィ匕合物の 1重量%溶液を調製した。 これらの溶液を用いて、 20 20111111のポリカーボネート板上に2000卬111、 60秒でス ピンコートを行 、試験片をそれぞれ作成した。得られた試験片につ 、て UV吸収スぺ タトルを測定した後、該試験片に 55000ルクスの光を照射し、照射前の UV吸収スぺ タトルの λ maxでの吸光度に対する照射後の吸光度残率が 50%になるまでの時間を 測定した。結果を表 2に示す。

下記の配合をプラストミルで 260°Cにて 5分間溶融混練した。混練後、直径 6mmの ノズル力 押出し水冷却ペレタイザ一で色素含有ペレットを得た。このペレットを電気 プレスを用いて 250°Cで 0. 25mm厚の薄板に成形した。この薄板を (株)日立製作 所スぺクトロフォトメーター U— 3010で測定したところ、 maxが 589nmで半値巾が 28nmであった。

下記の配合にてバインダー組成物を作成し、易密着処理した 188ミクロン厚のポリ エチレンテレフタレート(PET)フィルムに、該バインダー組成物をバーコ一ター # 9 により塗布し、 80°Cで 30秒乾燥させた。その後、このフィルムを 0. 9mm厚アルカリガ ラス板に 100°Cで熱圧着し、ガラス板と PETフィルムとの間のバインダー層に光吸収 性色素を含有する PET保護ガラス板を作成した。これについて (株)日立製作所スぺ タトロフォトメーター U— 3010で測定したところ、 maxは 590nmで半値巾は 28nm であった。

[0109] 比較例 1〜3の光学フィルタ一は、特定の波長(550〜620nm)に吸収を有するも のの、半値巾が大きぐ必要な光まで吸収してしまうおそれがある。これに対し、本発 明のシァニンィ匕合物を使用した実施例 1〜6の光学フィルタ一は、特定の波長(550 〜620nm)にシャープな吸収(半値巾 50nm以下)を有しており、光学フィルタ一とし ての性能に優れることが明らかである。

化合物 No. 1を用い、前記評価例 2と同様にして試験片を作成した。この試験片に ついて、薄膜の吸収 UVスペクトル及び入射角 5° の反射光の UVスペクトルを測定 したところ、吸収え maxは 613nmであり、反射光え maxは 650nmであった。

化合物 No. 10を用い、前記評価例 2と同様にして試験片を作成した。この試験片 について、薄膜の吸収 UVスペクトル及び入射角 5° の反射光の UVスペクトルを測 定したところ、吸収え maxは 612nmであり、反射光え maxは 648nmであった。
[0112] 光学記録媒体は、反射光の吸収において、使用するレーザ光の波長に近いところ で大きい吸収強度を示すものほど好ましい。実施例 7及び 8の結果から、本発明のシ ァニン化合物は、 DVD— R等の 650nmのレーザ光を用いる光学記録媒体に用いら れる光学記録材料に好適であることが明らかである。
産業上の利用可能性
[0113] 本発明によれば、耐光性及び溶解性に優れ、光学要素として適した新規シァニン 化合物を提供できる。また、該シァニンィ匕合物を用いた光学フィルタ一は、画像表示 用光学フィルタ一として好適であり、該シァニンィ匕合物を含有してなる光学記録材料 は、光学記録媒体の光学記録層の形成に好適である。

請求の範囲 下記一般式 (I)で表されるシァニン化合物。

(式中、 澴 A1は、 置換基を有してもよいベンゼン環又はナフタレン環を表し、 Bは、 下記一般式 (Π) 又は (III) で表される基を表し、 R1は、 水素原子、 炭 素原子数 1〜8のアルキル基又は炭素原子数 6〜 30のァリール基を表し、 Y1 は、 水素原子、 炭素原子数 1〜30の有機基又は下記一般式 (IV) で表される置 換基を表し、 上記一般式 ( I ) における Y1及び B中の Y2又は Y3のうちの少な くとも一方は下記一般式 (IV) で表される置換基である。)

[6] 上記一般式 (I)における Y1及び上記一般式 (II)における Y2のどちらか一方力 上 記一般式 (IV)で表される置換基である請求の範囲第 1〜4項のいずれかに記載のシ ァニン化合物。
[7] 上記一般式 (I)における Y1及び上記一般式 (II)における Y2が、上記一般式 (IV)で 表される置換基である請求の範囲第 1〜4項のいずれかに記載のシァニンィ匕合物。
[8] 上記一般式 (I)における Y1及び上記一般式 (III)における Y3のどちらか一方が、上 記一般式 (IV)で表される置換基である請求の範囲第 1、 2又は 5項記載のシァニン 化合物。
[9] 上記一般式 (I)における Y1及び上記一般式 (III)における Y3力 上記一般式 (IV)で 表される置換基である請求の範囲第 1、 2又は 5項記載のシァニンィ匕合物。
[10] 上記一般式 (IV)における Zが、置換基を有してもよ!、炭素原子数 1〜8のアルキレ ン基である請求の範囲第 1〜9項のいずれかに記載のシァニンィ匕合物。
[11] 上記一般式 (IV)における M力 Feである請求の範囲第 1〜10項のいずれかに記 載のシァニンィ匕合物。
[12] 請求の範囲第 1〜11項のいずれかに記載のシァニンィ匕合物を含有してなる光学フ イノレター。
[13] 画像表示装置用である請求の範囲第 12項に記載の光学フィルター。
[14] 基体上に光学記録層が形成された光学記録媒体の該光学記録層に用いられる、 請求の範囲第 1〜11項のいずれかに記載のシァニンィ匕合物を含有してなる光学記 録材料。
