Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de production de pièces ou d'éléments structuraux en aluminium pour véhicules, à partir d'un alliage d'aluminium fondu et à l'aide d'un dispositif de coulage en continu permettant de couler l'alliage dans une ébauche. Ledit procédé consiste à utiliser un alliage d'aluminium fondu formé de 2,7 à 3,6 % en poids de Mg, de 0,1 à 0,4 % en poids de Mn, de 0,02 à 0,2 % en poids de Si, de 0,05 à 0,30 % en poids de Fe, de 0,1 % en poids maximum de Cu, de 0,25 % en poids maximum de Cr, de 0,2 % en poids maximum de Zn, de 0,15 % en poids maximum de Ti, le reste étant formé d'aluminium, d'autres éléments et d'impuretés. Le procédé consiste ensuite à utiliser un dispositif de coulage en continu tel que, par exemple, un dispositif de coulage à bande, un dispositif de coulage entre blocs, ou un dispositif de coulage à cylindre, pour couler en continu l'alliage d'aluminium fondu. L'alliage d'aluminium fondu est coulé dans une ébauche qui est roulée de manière à former une feuille, puis recuite. Ladite feuille présente une distribution améliorée de particules intermétalliques (Al-Fe, Al-Fe-Mn ou Mg2Si) et une capacité de formage améliorée. La feuille est ensuite mise en forme de manière à obtenir une pièce ou élément structurel pour véhicule avec une résistance et une capacité de formage suffisantes requises par l'industrie automobile.
