Après application d'une couche isolante en résine synthétique non conductrice sur l'élément de chauffage électrique plat en résine synthétique, un revêtement supérieur quelconque peut être appliqué. La matière de départ de l'élément de chauffage électrique en résine synthétique est ainsi formulée qu'elle devient viscoélastique en durcissant et ne se déchire pas en cas de formation de fissures dans le support. Elle ne contient pas de solvant organique et peut être diluée avec de l'eau. Ladite matière possède en outre une forte perméabilité à la vapeur d'eau, ce qui évite la formation de boursouflures. Ledit élément de chauffage électrique plat en résine synthétique peut être utilisé tant à l'intérieur de bâtiments en tant que chauffage principal ou d'appoint qu'à l'extérieur pour empêcher la formation de glace.
