Definitions
- the invention relates to a stop damper, as used for example in furniture construction and in particular in furniture doors and drawers.
- Damping elements are known from the prior art which are used to gently drop furniture doors and drawers into their closed end position. This is intended to prevent abrupt and thus disruptive contact with furniture parts, limit the wear and tear and achieve a noise and shock-absorbing effect.
- the known damping elements essentially have an elastic stop element which is fixed in a blind hole made in the furniture body.
- the stop element can also be glued to the furniture body.
- Such a stop element protrudes over the flat surface of the furniture body and, due to its elastic deformability, reduces the impact of another furniture part, such as a furniture door.
- the cupboard doors or chest covers hit the attached conventional damping elements with a large impulse due to their own weight.
- the damping elements are not able to dampen such strong shocks satisfactorily.
- the conventional damping elements would have to be dimensioned disproportionately large so that a complete closing of the cabinet door would not be possible.
- the known stop damper comprises a stop element guided in an elongated damper body with an open and a closed end.
- the damper body has a receiving space for receiving a slide piece connected to the stop element, on the outer contour of which one or more sliding surfaces are arranged, which bear against an inner wall section of the receiving space assigned to the open end of the damper body.
- a sealing device which bears against the inner contour of the receiving space is arranged.
- the end of the slider extending into the receiving space and the sealing device form with the inner contour of the receiving space a cavity in which, when the slider is pressurized, a counterpressure generated by the air pressure building up in the cavity is exerted on the slider.
- the cavity has at least one opening for the escape of air.
- the damping effect with such a stop damper results from the fact that the opening, which is designed as a bore in the closed end of the damping body, is chosen to be very small, so that the air slowly escapes in order to reduce the air pressure in the cavity.
- the typical diameter of such a bore is approximately 0.1 mm.
- an attenuator cooperates with the opening, which forms a flow resistance for the air escaping through the opening.
- the opening can be chosen to be of almost any size, since the air volume flows through the damping member and escapes in a damped manner. Openings with a diameter greater than 0.1mm can also be made using the injection molding process. To the To achieve the desired damping effect, it is not so much a question of an exactly predetermined diameter of the opening, but rather of the damping element used.
- the attenuator can have a porous material as an air flow resistance. With such a material, the air flows through a plurality of narrow flow paths, so that a desired flow resistance is achieved.
- the damping element can have an element made of sintered material, made of plastic foam, made of textile material, made of felt material or the like material which forms an air flow resistance.
- suitable materials which differ in terms of machinability, resistance, addibility due to particles in the air and other material properties.
- the materials to be used have in common that they can be flowed through and offer resistance to the air flow, which leads to damping in the stop damper.
- the opening to be flowed through can be arranged at the closed end of the damper body. In this area, the opening can be made particularly simply in terms of production technology.
- the diameter of the opening can be selected from greater than 0.1 mm to the inside diameter of the cavity.
- the damping element can be fitted in a holding area formed on the damper body, the entire air flow flowing through the damping element. If the inner diameter of the cavity is selected as the diameter of the opening, the damping member can be pressed directly into the damper body and define the closed end thereof.
- the opening can be arranged on the slider. Since the slider extends at least partially into the outer area of the shock absorber, an opening provided on the slider ensures a particularly good escape of the compressed air from the cavity.
- a bore made in the direction of its extension can be provided in the slide, which extends into the cavity.
- the damping element can be fitted in a holding area formed on the damper body, the entire air flow flowing through the damping element.
- the attenuator can be pressed directly into the hole.
- the attenuator can be advantageous to arrange the attenuator on the side of the opening facing away from the cavity. If a holding area can be formed on the side of the opening facing away from the cavity, the damping member can be fitted there in a suitable manner.
- the damping member can be arranged on the side of the opening facing the cavity.
- the holding area is then on the same side.
- the predetermined direction of flow of the air also guarantees a secure hold in the holding area.
- the attenuator can also be fitted within the opening. This arrangement is particularly advantageous when the opening is made with a diameter greater than 0.1 mm.
- a spring arranged in the receiving space is provided on the damper body.
- the spring pushes the slider out of the receiving space at least partially. against the spring force, the slider can be easily Insert the reception room.
- the damping effect is primarily achieved by the air pressure building up.
- the sealing device has at least one elastic sealing lip.
- the sealing lip is pressed against the inner contour of the receiving space, thereby creating a largely airtight sliding connection.
- a particularly effective and at the same time inexpensive embodiment is formed in that the elastic sealing lip is inclined essentially in the direction of the closed end of the receiving space.
- the sealing lip is at least partially spaced from the outer contour of the slider and is arranged at the end of the slider that extends into the receiving space.
- the sealing lip allows air to flow into the cavity so that the slider can be brought into a maximum extension position despite the negative pressure generated by the spring in the cavity when it is pulled out or pushed out.
- the elastic sealing lip of the sealing device is spaced apart from the inner contour of the receiving space in the spacing between the inner contour of the receiving space and the outer contour of the sliding piece when the sliding piece is at least partially pulled out of the receiving space due to the negative pressure which arises in the cavity.
- air can flow past the sealing lip into the cavity through the spacing between the inner contour of the receiving space and the outer contour of the sliding piece.
- a particularly simple and at the same time effective sliding guide is created by the fact that at the open end of the damper body associated inner wall portion of the receiving space at least one projection is formed, which is in contact with the sliding surface or the sliding piece. Together with the sealing device, which forms a supporting and sealing sliding guide in the lower part of the damper body on the inner wall of the receiving space, the slider is guided securely in the receiving space.
- At least one projection is arranged between the outer contour of the slider and the inner contour of the receiving space.
- this projection strikes the projection which is formed on the inner wall section of the receiving space associated with the open end of the damper body.
- the damper body can be inserted into a blind hole in, for example, a furniture body.
- the damper body has an at least partially circumferential extension on the outer contour assigned to its open end.
- the sliding body has, at least in part, an elongated recess which extends essentially in its longitudinal direction and is attached to its end associated with the closed end of the receiving space and into which the spring arranged in the receiving space extends.
- the spring arranged in the receiving space can be guided over the pin and movably arranged on its outer contour, so that the spring travel is not impeded.
- a spacing can be formed in the slider between the pin and the recess extending in the longitudinal direction, so that the spring is movably arranged on the inner contour of the recess and its spring travel is not impeded.
- a particularly effective minimization of the cavity volume is achieved in that, when the slide is essentially completely inserted, the spring is moved onto the block in the spacing between the pin and the recess.
- the stop element can have a stop head, which at least partially protrudes at the open end of the damping body beyond the edge region of the opening and strikes the edge region when the slider is essentially completely inserted, thus defining an additional limitation of the insertion depth of the slider into the receiving space in the damper body.
- the sliding body can be formed in one piece with the sealing device.
- the stop element in order to detachably hold a cabinet door on the furniture body in the closed position, can have a magnetic snap device or similar contact device for releasably connecting the stop damper.
- the object of the invention is achieved in that the stop element has a magnetic snap device or similar contact device for releasably connecting the stop damper to a connecting element.
- the stop element has a magnetic snap device or similar contact device for releasably connecting the stop damper to a connecting element.
- opening cross-sections are atypical for the claimed application and are very difficult to manufacture.

- the sealing lip 34 forms a recess 40 which is approximately annular in cross section at its area directed towards the closed end of the receiving space 20 and which is part of the cavity 36 is. If the air pressure builds up in the cavity 36, the air pressure within the annular recess 40 will also rise equally, so that the sealing lip 34 is pressed against the inner contour 28 of the receiving space 20 and a largely airtight sliding connection is formed.
- the elastic sealing lip 34 is designed accordingly with regard to its flexibility, it can be lifted off the inner contour 28 of the receiving space 20 due to the higher air pressure in the environment and the gap 30 in contact with it. As a result, air can flow through the gap 30 between the inner contour 28 of the receiving space 20 and the outer contour 24 of the sliding piece 12 past the sealing lip 34 into the cavity 36 until pressure compensation is established.
