Definitions
- the invention relates to an injection valve for injecting fuel into an internal combustion engine.
- Injectors for injecting fuel usually have a supply connection via which fuel is taken up with pressure. Controlled by a control unit, a predetermined amount of fuel is injected into a cylinder of an internal combustion engine. Since not all of the fuel consumed is injected into the cylinder from the injector, the excess, un-injected amount of fuel must be removed from the injector. This is usually done via a leakage outlet on the injection valve, to which a leakage nipple is attached.
- the leakage nipple should be rotatably attached to the injection valve so that simple fuel lines can be connected during assembly or maintenance. Nevertheless, the leakage nipple must be easy to manufacture and easy to install on the injection valve.
- the leakage nipple is usually held on the injection valve with a fastening clip in such a way that the leakage nipple does not fall out of the leakage outlet even during operation.
- the fastening clip is held on the injector via one or more grooves or bores on a balcony provided on the injector and, by engaging in a groove of the leakage nipple, produces a reliable holder on the injector.
- the balcony can be brittle due to a hardness error occurring during the manufacturing process of the injection valve, so that the fastening clip can easily break out of a corresponding groove or bore.
- An injection valve with a leakage nipple is known from the document EP 0 886 065 AI.
- the leakage nipple is inserted in a leakage outlet at one end of the injection valve and can be attached to the injection valve in a rotatable manner by means of a fastening clip.
- the mounting bracket is divided into two sections, a larger section with a larger radius and a small section with a smaller radius.
- the mounting bracket is slidable in a groove of the injection valve. The groove extends up to the leakage outlet, the leakage nipple, which is inserted into the leakage outlet, having a further groove. If the two grooves lie on top of each other, the leakage nipple can be attached by moving the fastening clip so that the smaller section with the smaller radius lies in both grooves.
- an injection valve for injecting fuel into an internal combustion engine.
- the injector has a high pressure port to receive high pressure fuel.
- a pressure pipe socket is connected to the high-pressure connection, which connects the high-pressure connection to a fuel supply.
- the injection valve further includes a leakage output, ERS not injected fuel from the injector ⁇ lead.
- a leakage nipple is inserted into the leakage outlet and is held by a fastening clip.
- the mounting bracket is attached to the high pressure connection and / or pressure pipe socket.
- the injection valve according to the invention has the advantage that no separate device for holding the fastening clip on the injection valve has to be provided.
- the fastening clip can preferably be inserted between the high-pressure connection and the pressure pipe socket or in the vicinity of the high-pressure connection, so that essentially no additional measure is required to hold the fastening clip. Due to an adjacent arrangement of the high-pressure connection and the leakage outlet of the injection valve, the leakage nipple can be held in a simple manner by fastening the fastening clip to the high-pressure connection.
- the leakage nipple preferably has a circumferential groove into which the fastening clip engages in order to hold the leakage nipple on the injection valve.
- the clip is elastic and can be snapped into the groove of the leakage nipple.
- the leakage nipple can be attached to the injection valve in this way.
- the fastening clip preferably has an essentially circular loop at one end, through which the pressure pipe socket can be mounted in the injection valve, so that the fastening clip can be pivoted about the pressure pipe socket. Mounting the pressure pipe socket in the injection valve creates a groove in which the circular loop of the fastening clip lies. The groove formed between the pressure pipe socket and the injection valve enables the fastening clip to be pivoted, but prevents tilting movements in directions perpendicular thereto. As a result, the fastening clip can reliably hold the leakage nipple with a force in the leakage outlet.
- the fastening clip preferably has a substantially hook-shaped section, the fastening clip being dimensioned such that the leakage nipple can be fastened to the injection valve by pivoting the fastening clip around the pressure pipe socket and by snapping the further end of the fastening clip into the groove of the leakage nipple.
- This enables the fastening clip to be designed as simply as possible and at the same time prevents protruding parts of the fastening clip in the fully assembled state.
- FIG. 1 shows a side view of an injection valve according to the invention
- Figure 2 is a plan view of the high pressure connection and the leakage nipple of the injection valve according to the invention
- FIG. 3 shows a further view of the injection valve according to the invention
- Figure 4 is a sectional view through the leakage nipple and the pressure pipe socket along a section line BB;
- FIG. 5 shows a side view of a leakage nipple
- FIG. 6 shows a fastening clip for use for an injection valve according to the invention
- FIG. 7 shows a further embodiment of a fastening clip.
- an injection valve is shown in a side view.
- the injection valve has a valve housing 1 and is electrically controlled via an electrical connection 2.
- the injection valve is used to inject fuel into a cylinder of an internal combustion engine.
- the amount of fuel injected is determined by the injection duration and the valve lift, which are specified by an electrical actuating signal, and by the pressure of the fuel that is made available to the injection valve.
- the fuel is made available to the injection valve with pressure via a pressure pipe socket 3.
- a rod filter is arranged in the pressure pipe supports.
- the leakage nipple 4 has two line connections 5, to which discharge lines (not shown) can be connected in order to discharge the fuel which has not been injected.
- the leakage nipple 4 must be rotatably connected to the valve housing 1 in order to enable simple mounting of the discharge lines to the discharge line connections 5. For this reason, a screw connection between the valve housing 1 and the leakage nipple 4 is not suitable.
- the leakage nipple 4 has a connecting piece 7 which is inserted into the leakage outlet 8 of the valve housing 1. With a mounting bracket that engages in a groove 9 of the leakage nipple, the leakage nipple 4 is held on the valve housing 1.
- FIG. 2 shows a top view of the pressure pipe socket 3 and the leakage nipple 4.
- the adjacent arrangement of pressure pipe socket 3 and leakage nipple 4 can be seen.
- the pressure pipe socket 3 is screwed into the valve housing 1 with a thread.
- the thread preferably has a smaller diameter than the section of the pressure pipe socket adjoining the thread.
- the thread is preferably recessed in an area facing the adjacent section.
- the fastening clip 6 is located around the area. There is sufficient play between the recessed area of the thread and the fastening clip 6 so that the fastening clip can be pivoted about the pressure pipe socket 3.
- the fastening clip 6 leads from the pressure pipe socket 3 to the leakage nipple 4, the leakage nipple 4 being held on the valve housing 1 in the direction perpendicular to the leakage outlet.
- FIG. 3 shows a further view of the injection valve according to the invention.
- the immediately adjacent arrangement of pressure pipe socket 3 and leakage nipple 4 can also be seen here.
- the leakage nipple 4 has the connection socket 7, which is inserted into the leakage outlet 8 of the valve housing 1.
- the connecting piece 7 also has the groove 9, into which the fastening clip 6 engages when the injector is in the assembled state.
- FIG. 4 shows a sectional view along the section line B-B as indicated in FIG. 1.
- the sectional view shows a cross section along the course of the fastening clip 6. A high-pressure connection can be seen
- the fastening clip 6 has a first section 14, which is bent substantially in a circle and has enough play between the recess of the thread 11 and the inner diameter of the circularly curved end of the fastening clip 6 in order to pivot the fastening clip 6 around the pressure pipe socket 3.
- the clip has a second hook-shaped section 15, which can be snapped into the groove 9 of the leakage nipple 4 for fastening the leakage nipple 4 when it is being fitted.
- the fastening clip 6 also has a third section 16 which is double S-shaped in order to achieve better accessibility of the fastening clip 6 in the assembled state. After assembly, the fastening clip 6 can thus be released again in a simple manner, so that the leakage nipple 4 can be removed from the valve housing.
- a leakage nipple 4 is shown in a side view. It can be seen that the connecting piece 7 is provided with a groove 9 into which the second section 15 of the fastening clip 6 engages.
- the fastening clip 6 is preferably formed from a metallic, flexible material.
- the center point of the inner radius of the first section 14 of the fastening clip 6 and a center point of the inner radius of the hook-shaped region of the second section 15 of the fastening clip 6 have essentially the same distance as the centers of the radii of the high-pressure connection and the leakage connection.
- one end of the fastening clip 6 arranged on the second section 15 of the fastening clip 6 is bent outwards. In this way, the end of the fastening clip 6 assigned to the hook-shaped section slips more easily in the groove 9 of the leakage nipple 4.
- FIG. 7 shows another embodiment of the fastening clip 6. It differs essentially from the embodiment according to FIG. 6 in that the end of the fastening clip 6 assigned to the first section is essentially bent outwards in order to make it easier to thread the high-pressure connector 3 into the fastening clip 6.
