Abstract

Jusqu'à présent, des efforts ont été entrepris pour réduire la concentration de substances nocives dans les gaz d'échappement émis par les moteurs diesel d'automobiles, efforts consacrés principalement à l'amélioration de la combustion à l'intérieur même des moteurs. Toutefois, les critères en termes de réduction des gaz d'échappement qui seront appliqués à partir de 2005 n'ont pas encore été atteints. Par conséquent, l'invention concerne un procédé d'oxydation des MP destiné à l'oxydation des matières particulaires contenues dans les gaz d'échappement émis par un moteur diesel (10), consistant à faire passer les gaz d'échappement par un dispositif de nettoyage des gaz d'échappement. Ce procédé se caractérise par le fait qu'il utilise un module d'admission (24) situé dans le passage d'admission du moteur diesel (10), permettant d'augmenter la température des gaz d'échappement sortant du moteur diesel (10) et entrant dans le dispositif de nettoyage des gaz d'échappement, et qu'il consiste à ouvrir périodiquement le module d'admission (24) pour fournir du gaz frais au moteur diesel (10). L'invention permet d'augmenter sensiblement la concentration de NO et d'oxygène résiduel dans les gaz d'échappement entrant dans un filtre à particules diesel νFPD (30) ou analogue et d'oxyder efficacement les matières particulaires lorsque le moteur diesel tourne à base régime ou au ralenti.
