- the invention relates to a key for a security lock, with a shaft which has a plurality of control surfaces for classifying tumblers of the security lock.
- Keys of the type mentioned are generally known. With high-quality keys, the control surfaces are formed, for example, by bores in the shaft. The holes are positioned in such a way that a tumbler is arranged in the safety lock and the rotor is released for rotation. Keys with simple holes can be copied with comparatively little effort. In order to make copying more difficult, so-called mechanical keys have therefore been proposed, in which tumblers are classified not by bores but by movable pins. Reference is made here, for example, to WO 91/10796 by the applicant. Such a key can hardly be copied with conventional machines. The manufacturing costs of such a key are, however, much higher than with a conventional key.
