Definitions
- the invention relates to a vacuum cleaner according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Vacuum cleaners which have visual display means which inform the user whether e.g. the vacuum cleaner is in operation, the dust bag is full or what the vacuum cleaner is doing.
- the optical display means can be designed as transparent or partially transparent windows in a housing wall of the vacuum cleaner. Behind these windows, light sources are arranged on an electrical unit that illuminate the window directly.
- a disadvantage of these known vacuum cleaners is that the light sources must be arranged directly under the windows in order to enable a well-lit display means. Special care must therefore be taken to ensure that the light sources inside the vacuum cleaner housing are located exactly where the housing carries the display means.
- the object of the invention is to provide a vacuum cleaner in which the light sources can be arranged at locations other than directly under the display means and in which the display means are nevertheless well illuminated.
- a vacuum cleaner with the features of claim 1.
- a light guide component is arranged between the light source and the display means and which guides light emitted by the at least one light source to the at least one display means, the light source and the display means can have a clear offset without the luminosity of the display being impaired.
- An identical internal structure can be used for different models of vacuum cleaners. The resulting differences in position of light sources and display means can be bridged by differently designed light guide components.
- the light sources are often designed as light-emitting diodes which are directly soldered to an electrical unit, such as a circuit board.
- an electrical unit such as a circuit board.
- Several existing diodes are rigidly fixed in their mutual positions.
- the circuit board is generally attached to a flange of the housing or to other vacuum cleaner components fastened in the housing inside the vacuum cleaner. This also fixes the position of the group of diodes in the vacuum cleaner housing.
- the light guide component has an entry surface facing the light source, an exit surface facing the display means and at least one reflection surface for reflecting at least part of the light introduced into the light guide component via the entry surface in the direction of the exit surface. Due to the number and position of the reflecting surfaces, the light can be guided to the display means from almost any entry point, largely without loss. The number and position of the reflecting surfaces depends on the specific position difference between the light source and the associated display means.
- the light guide component comprises a multiplicity of light guide sections which guide the light emitted by different light sources into separate display means. This has the advantage that a plurality of light sources which can be controlled independently of one another can be associated with a plurality of different display means and only a single light guide component is required.
- the one The light guide component summarized several light guide sections are optically decoupled from each other by suitable separators, so that they do not influence each other.
- each light guide section is optically connected to a light source and to an associated display means.
- the display means Function of the display means, e.g. the vacuum cleaner is in operation, the dust bag is full or the performance of the vacuum cleaner can vary in size, shape or color.
- the display means which displays the performance of the vacuum cleaner is designed as a swell arrow.
- the swell arrow comprises a series of display fields that have increasing sizes.
- the light guide component has latching means for fastening the light guide component to the electrical structural unit.
- a light guide component can e.g. be clipped onto the edge of a circuit board that carries light-emitting diodes. This has the advantage that the circuit board and the light guide component can be preassembled as a common assembly.
- the light guide component can have latching means, which can be clipped onto an inside of the housing.
- latching means which can be clipped onto an inside of the housing.
- FIG. 1 shows a top view of a vacuum cleaner according to the invention
- FIG. 2 shows a side view of an assembly of electrical component, light sources, light guide component and display means
- FIG. 3 shows the light guide component from FIG. 2 in a side view
- FIG. 4 shows the light guide component from FIGS. 2 and 3 in a view from below.
- a first display means 1a is designed as an operating display.
- a second display means 1b is designed as a filter bag display.
- a third display means 1c comprises a plurality of differently dimensioned display units, which form a swell arrow, by means of which the performance is displayed.
- First display means 1a, second display means 1b and third display means 1c are accommodated in a cover 12 of a housing 9.
- FIG. 2 shows a section 13 of the cover 12 which has the first display means 1a, the second display means 1b and the third display means 1c on the surface thereof.
- the light sources 2 are fastened on an electrical assembly 3 at a distance from the surface of the section 13.
- the light sources 2 are designed as light-emitting diodes.
- the electrical unit 3 is designed as a circuit board.
- a light guide component 4 is arranged between the light sources 2 and the display means 1a, 1b, 1c.
- FIG. 3 shows the light guide component 4 from FIG. 2.
- the light guide component 4 is designed as a one-piece plastic injection molded part.
- a total of six optically separated light guide sections 11a, 11b, 11c, 11d, 11e, 11f are present on this light guide component 4.
- Each of the light guide sections 11 has an entry surface 5, via which the light emitted by the light source 2 (FIG. 1) enters.
- At least one exit surface 6 is present on each light guide section.
- each light guide section 11 has an entry surface 5 which is optically connected to two exit surfaces 6. All six optically separated light guide sections 11a, 11b, 11c, 11d, 11e, 11f form the swell arrow of the power display.
- the light guide component 4 also includes a separate light guide section 11g for the filter bag display and a light guide section 11h for the operating display.
- Two latching means 10a and 10b are formed on the light guide component 4 and fasten the light guide component 4 to the electrical assembly 3 (FIG. 2).
- a multiplicity of reflection surfaces 13 are arranged, which reflect the light entering the light guide component 4 via the entry surface 5 in a suitable manner towards the exit surface.
