Abstract

L'invention concerne un matériau composite comprenant des fragments de verre présentant un diamètre d'au moins 5 mm, le pourcentage en volume du verre étant supérieur ou égal à 15 % et inférieur ou égal à 80 %. Un procédé correspondant consiste à dégrossir et polir la surface d'un panneau ou d'un élément de construction en vue de le rendre transparent, à revêtir les fragments de verre, dont on rend les surfaces rugueuses, à revêtir la surface polie ou dégrossie du panneau ou de l'élément de construction, puis à nettoyer les fragments de verre. Selon l'invention, le procédé associé à ce nouveau matériau composite consiste ensuite à mélanger les fragments de verre avec du ciment, du sable et de la pierre naturelle, à renforcer ce matériau composite avec de l'acier ou un matériau synthétique, à ajouter des pigments de couleur au matériau composite, à verser le mélange dans un moule, à compacter le mélange de façon à faire disparaître les bulles d'air, à durcir ledit mélange/matériau composite, et à utiliser du verre recyclé.
