- This receptacle is preferably designed as a drawer, so that it and its contents can be pulled out of the housing in order to enable removal.
- the use of a drawer also enables a more compact design of the housing than if the finished ice cubes have to be removed in a conventional manner through a flap from a receptacle which is stationary in the housing.
- the ice-cream preparation trough itself can serve as a receptacle for finished pieces of ice.
- the device is preferably designed both for operation on a mains socket and for operation independent of the mains, in particular on a car battery.

- a compressor 11 of the refrigerator and a drawer 12 for finished ice cubes are accommodated in a lower region of the housing 1.
- the ice-cream preparation trough 6 can be pulled out of the housing 1 like a drawer, as shown in FIG. 3.
- the cooling fingers 8 are heated in order to loosen the ice cubes 13 formed thereon. These fall into the drawer 12 located under the evaporator 7.
- the ice-cream preparation tub 6 can be pushed back to its place shown in FIG. 1 and filled again with water from the storage tank 2, while the finished ice cubes 13 are ready for removal in the drawer 12 ,
- the drawer 12 can be omitted; instead, the ice-cream preparation trough 6 is used in its position shown in FIG. 1 for ice cube preparation and, after completion of the ice cube preparation, is left in the lowered position shown in FIG. 2.
- the ice cubes fall into the tub 6 and can be removed by pulling out the tub 6.
