Extensive tests have been carried out to determine the optimum dimensions in order to prevent the liquid from escaping as a jet instead of as drops if the user exerts excessive pressure on the container wall. It has been found here that in addition to the conical shape of the outlet channel, the outer shape of the drip tip is particularly important when the container is held at an angle.
  • EP 0 956 904 AI describes a drip insert that can be inserted into a container. This dropper insert should always deliver constant droplet sizes regardless of the pressure on the liquid. Starting from an outlet channel with an inlet opening that is smaller than the outlet opening, not only conical outlet channels but also those with cylindrical sections are proposed.
