More specifically, it relates to a method for producing a reinforced embankment mass which has on at least one of its lateral faces a vertical or oblique facing formed by a stack of tires, said mass consisting of superimposed layers of embankment, separated by flexible reinforcement plies and comprising on said lateral face at least one row of tires.
- FR-2 682 700 plans to use used tires in particular. These tires are preferably cut at at least one of their sidewalls. The interior of these cut tires is then filled with backfill or topsoil or waste by compatible and harmless industrial by-products, as the massif rises.
- the reinforcing plies are essentially constituted by lattices or geogrids, and the connection between these lattices or geogrids and the tires is carried out by friction or by any other type of attachment. This solution makes it possible to use used tires which constitute an environmental problem, but it requires cutting off the sidewalls of the tires, which can prove to be expensive.
