明 細 書
燃料供給装置
技術分野 この発明は、 燃料タ ンクから内燃機関などへ燃料を加圧して供給する 燃料供給装置に関し、 特に燃料流路を含むハウジングを樹脂部材の溶着 によ り形成する際にできるバリの影響を防ぐものである。
背景技術 図 4、 図 5は、 国際公開番号 W O 9 6 / 2 3 9 6 7号公報に示された 従来の燃料供給装置を示すもので、 図 4は側断面図、 図 5は平面図、 図 6はハウジング形成の熱板溶着の説明図、 図 7は図 5の X— Y— Z断面 を示す図である。
図において、 1は燃料タンク、 2は燃料タンク 1の開口部である。 この開口部 2を塞ぐように合成樹脂製の蓋 3が設けられ、 蓋 3と燃料タンク 1との間にはシ ール用のガスケヅ ト 4が介装されている。
蓋 3には燃料供給系の機能部品としての燃料ポンプ 5、 燃料フィルタ 6、 プレ ツシャレギュレ一タ 7、 燃料液面計 8、 電気コネクタ 9、 吐出配管 1 0がー体的 に組付けられユニッ ト化されている。
燃料フィルタ 6は、 ハウジング 1 1 内に濾過エレメ ン ト 1 2 を収容し て構成されている。 しかも、 蓋 3 をハウジング 1 1 の一部としてお り、 蓋 3から吊下げられている。 ハウジング 1 1は、 上ハウジングである蓋 3 と下ハウジング 1 3 とから成り、 下ハウジング 1 3 は、 合成樹脂材料 によ り成形されている。 この蓋 3 と下ハウジング 1 3 とは境界部 1 4で 全周を液密に溶着されてお り、 内部空間に濾過エレメ ン ト 1 2 が配置さ れる。
燃料フィルタ 6のハウジング 1 1の内周側上方には、 燃料入口としての入口管 1 5が設けられており、燃料ポンプ 5の吐出管と接続されている。
ハウジング 1 1 の二つの燃料出口のう ちの第 1 の燃料出口を形成する 配管 1 6 (図 4では一点鎖線で示す) は下ハウジング 1 3の下端から上 方向へ延びて蓋 3 に設けられた吐出配管 1 0 に連通している。
第 2 の燃料出口である リ ターン管 1 8 は、 下ハウジング 1 3 の下部に 設けられてお り、 プレツシャ レギユレ一夕 7 に接続されている。
蓋 3 と一体成形されている電気コネクタ 8は、 燃料タ ンク 1外におい て電源および制御装置 (図示せず) に接続されている。 また、 燃料タン ク 1 内において、図示しないリー ド線を介して燃料ポンプ 5 に接続され、 燃料ポンプ 5のモー夕に電力を供給する とともに、 図示しない リー ド線 を介して燃料液面計 8 (図 8 に示す) に接続され液面高さを示す電気信 号を伝えている。
また、 下ハウジング 1 3は導電性合成樹脂製で成形されてお り、 濾過
'エレメ ン ト 1 2 を燃料が通過する とき発生する静電気を電気コネクタ 8 を通じて放散させている。
このよう に構成された燃料供給装置では、 電気コネクタ 8 を通じて燃 料ポンプ 5 に電力が供給される と、 燃料ポンプ 5 はフィ ルタ 1 9 を通し て燃料を吸入加圧して、 ハウジング 1 1 の内周側上方の入口管 1 5へ送 出する。
燃料は、 下ハウジング 1 3 と蓋 3 との間の通路 2 0 を矢印 A方向に流 れる。燃料フ ィ ルタ 6 内では燃料がハウジング 1 1 の中を上から下へと 流れ、濾過エレメ ン ト 1 2 を通過中に燃料中の塵埃等は濾過される。 濾過エレメ ン ト 1 2 を通過した燃料は配管 1 6から吐出配管 1 0 を通 つてエンジン燃料噴射装置のイ ンジヱクタ (図示していない) に供給さ れる。 このとき、 プレ ツシャ レギユレ一夕 7でイ ンジェクタへの燃料供 給圧力を一定に調整して消費量変動によ り余剰となる燃料をプレッシャ レギユレ一夕 7から再び燃料夕 ンク 1 内に戻される。 ここで、 蓋 3 と下ハウジング 1 3 とは境界部 1 4で全周を液密に溶着 する構成と しているが、 この溶着には一般的に熱板溶着が適用される。 熱板溶着は図 6 に示すよう に下ハウジング 1 3 と蓋 3 の溶着する端面を 加熱源の熱板 3 0で溶融温度に加熱しておいて、 熱板 3 0 を取り除き双 方の接合端面同士を加圧して熱溶着させる。
熱板溶着による溶着部の断面は、 図 7に示すように加圧によ り溶融部 分の端部は押し出されてバリ 2 1 を形成する。 接合端面の溶融状態、 加 圧しての押圧移動量によ り バリ 2 1 は大きさ、 形状に'バラ ツキが発生す る。 このため、 ハウジング 1 1 の縦寸法にバラヅキを生ずる。 また、 燃 料の流路にあたる部位に飛び出したバリ 2 1が流路面積を狭く して、 流 路抵抗を増大させるととも に、 燃料流の脈動がバリ 2 1 の変形ス ト レス とな り、 バリ 2 1 の弱い部分が疲労破壊を起こ し脱落することがある。 燃料フィルタの濾過エレメ ン ト 1 2 よ り上流に位置する溶着部のバリ 2 1 が脱落した場合には、 濾過エレメ ン ト 1 2 に捕捉されるが、 濾過ェレ メ ン ト 1 2 よ り下流に位置する溶着部のバリ 2 1 が脱落した場合には、 下流配管の詰ま り による供給燃料不足が生じた り、 下流に配設されるィ ンジェクタのノズル部への詰ま り によるエンジン不調といった不具合を 引起す恐れがあった。 '
この発明は上記のような問題点を解決するためになされたものでその目的 は、 熱板溶着によるハウジング縦寸法のバラツキを抑制するとともに、 流 路にバリが飛び出さず、 万が一に溶着部のバリが脱落した場合において も、 脱落したバリ を流路へ流出させない燃料供給装置を提供するも'ので ある。
発明の開示 この発明に係る燃料供給装置は、 燃料ポンプから送給される燃料液の 流路をハウジング内に形成するにあた り、 合成樹脂からなる上ハウジン グと下ハウジングの接合端面を熱溶着によ り液密にハウジングを形成し- 上ハゥジングぉよび下ハゥジングはそれぞれ接合端面よ り一段低い互い に対向する当接リ ブを設け、 双方の当接リ ブが当接するように接合端面 を溶融圧接して熱溶着したものである。 そして、 接合端面に沿って空隙溝を介在させて当接リ ブを設け、 熱溶 着完成時に空隙溝を閉鎖された溜り空間に形成し、 熱溶着時に飛出すバ リを溜り空間に残存させるよう にしたものである。 また、 少な く とも濾過エレメ ン トの下流の流路に当接リ ブによ り形成 される溜 り空間を設けるものである。
図面の簡単な説明 図 1 はこの発明の実施の形態 1 を示す燃料供給装置の側断面図である c 図 2はこの発明のハウジング形成の熱板溶着を説明する図である。 図 3はこの発明の溶着完成部の拡大部分断面図である。 図 4は従来の燃料供給装置の側断面図である。 図 5は従来の燃料供給装置の平面図である。 図 6はハゥジング形成の熱板溶着の説明図である。 図 7は図 5の X— Y— Z断面を示す図である。
発明を実施するための最良の形態 実施の形態 1 . 図 1 はこの発明の実施の形態 1 を示す燃料供給装置の側断面図である , 図 2は、 この発明のハウジング形成熱板溶着の説明図、 図 3は溶着完成 部の拡大部分断面を示す図である。 図において、 1〜 2 1、 3 0は上記 従来装置での説明と同様のものである。
蓋 3及び下ハウジング 1 3 は合成樹脂材料によ り成形されている。 3 aはハウジング 1 1 の上部を形成する蓋 3の接合端面、 3 bは接合端面 3 aに沿って接合端面 3 aよ り一段低い位置に設けられた当接リ ブ、 3 cは接合端面 3 a と当接リ ブ 3 bの間に設けられた空隙溝である。 1 3 aは下ハウジング 1 3 の接合端面であ り、 この下ハウジング 1 3の接合 端面 1 3 a と蓋 3 の接合端面 3 aが溶着接合されて境界部 1 4 となる。 境界部 1 4 と垂直なハウジング 1 1 の仕切り隔壁の端面が接合端面 3 a、 1 3 aであ り、 蓋 3 と下ハウジング 1 3 を接合端面 3 a、 1 3 aで溶着 接合するこ とによ り、 ハウジング 1 1 の外殻および流路が液密に形成さ れる。
1 3 bは接合端面 1 3 aに沿って接合端面 1 3 aよ り一段低い位置に 設けられた当接リ ブ、 1 3 cは接合端面 1 3 aと当接リ ブ 1 3 bの間に 設けられた空隙溝である。 蓋 3 と下ハウジング 1 3の接合端面 3 a、 1 3 aおよび当接リ ブ 3 b、 1 3 bはそれぞれ面対向に設けられている。 蓋 3 と下ハウジング 1 3 との熱板溶着は図 2 に示すように、 蓋 3の接 合端面 3 a と下ハウジング 1 3 の接合端面 1 3 aの間に加熱源の熱板 3 0を挟んでおいて双方の接合端面を溶融温度に加熱しておいて、 熱板 3 0を取り除き接合端面同士を加圧して液密に溶着させる。 このとき、 双 方の当接リ ブ 3 b、 1 3 bは接合端面 3 a、 1 3 aよ り一段低い位置で あるので溶融軟化温度には至らないので加圧されても変形はない。
従って、 当接リ ブ 3 b、 1 3 bが双方当接したところで境界部 1 4の 変形は止まるため、 ハウジング 1 1 の完成縦寸法が安定する。
また、 図 3 に示すように蓋 3 と下ハウジング 1 3 とが溶着されたとき には、 双方の空隙溝 3 c、 1 3 cによ り溜 り空間 2 2 が形成される。 こ のとき蓋 3 と下ハウジング 1 3の接合端面同士の加圧変形によ り発生す るバリ 2 1 を溜り空間 2 2 内に留めるこ とができる。 従って、 液流のあ る側に溜り空間 2 2 を形成することで、 バ リ 2 1 の飛出しによる流路面 積の狭隘化の防止と、 液流脈動によるバリ 2 1 の脱落を抑制し、 仮にバ リ 2 1 が脱落してもバリ 2 1 を溜り空間 2 2内に留め、 下流への流出を な く するので下流配管の詰ま り を防止することができる。
接合端面の周環に空隙溝 3 c、 1 3 cおよび当接リ ブ 3 b、 1 3 bを 設けるのが最良であるが、 該燃料供給装置の断面積が大き くな り、 装置 の小形化に反する。 そこで、 ノ リ 2 1 による支障の無い部分には、 当接 リ ブ 3 b、 1 3 bを熱溶着後の寸法が安定する程度の点在配置としても よい。 また、 バリ 2 1の離脱が燃料系に支障を及ぼす部分にのみ溜り空
■ 間 2 2 を形成して、 他の部分は従来例の溶着構造のままと してもよい。. 燃料ポンプ 5 の駆動による燃料液の送給動作は従来装置と同様であ り、 説明を省略する。
産業上の利用可能性 この発明は以上説明したよう に、 蓋 3の接合端面 3 aと下ハウジング 1 3 の接合端面 1 3 aに沿って接合端面 3 a、 1 3 aよ り一段低い位置 に当接リ ブ 3 b、 1 3 bを空隙溝 3 c、 1 3 c を介在して設けたので、 双方の接合端面を加熱して接合端面同士を加圧溶着させる際に当接リ ブ 3 b、 1 3 bが当接する位置で接合端面の変形が止ま りハウジング 1 1 の完成縦寸法が安定する。
—また、 流路側に溶着完了時に形成される空間 2 2 は加圧変形によ り発 生するバリ 2 1 を留め、 流路面積の狭隘化の防止と、 液流脈動によるバ リ 2 1 の脱落を抑制し、 脱落したバリ 2 1 を溜 り空間 2 2 内に留め、 下 流配管の詰ま り を防止する。

Claims

請求の範囲
1 . 燃料ポンプぉよびハウジングとともに一体に燃料夕 ンク内に沈設さ れ上記燃料ポンプから送給される燃料液の流路が上記ハウジング内に形 成される燃料供給装置において、
上記ハゥジングは合成樹脂からなる上ハウジングと下ハウジングの接合 端面を熱溶着によ り液密に形成され、 上記上ハウジングと下ハウジング はそれぞれ接合端面よ り一段低い互いに対向する当接リ ブを設け、 この 双方の当接リ ブが当接するよう に接合端面を溶融圧接して熱溶着したこ とを特徴とする燃料供給装置。.
2 . 接合端面に沿って空隙溝を介在させて当接リ ブを設け、 熱溶着完成 時に上記当接リ ブによ り閉鎖された空隙溝が溜り空間を形成し、 熱溶着 時に飛出すバリを上記溜り空間に残存させるよう にしたこ とを特徴とす る請求項 1記載の燃料供給装置。
3 . 少な く とも濾過エレメ ン トの下流にあたる流路部分に当接リ ブによ り形成される溜り空間を設けたこ とを特徴とする請求項 2記載の燃料供 給装置。
