Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant d'appliquer une image sur la surface arrière d'un miroir existant, laquelle est cependant encore visible depuis la surface avant. Le miroir (1) est d'une construction classique, comprenant un revêtement d'argent sur du verre, l'argent étant ensuite recouvert d'une peinture de renforcement afin de former une surface arrière peinte étanche (2). Une feuille de vinyle à haute résistance (3) avec un élément découpé (4) d'une forme complémentaire à l'image devant être fixée est appliquée sur la surface arrière (2) du miroir (1). Par application d'un matériau d'étanchéité du miroir à base de silicium sur la découpe (4), la peinture est dissoute et peut ensuite être retirée avec précaution mettant à découvert l'argent sous-jacent (5). L'application ultérieure d'un nettoyant abrasif doux sur l'argent mis à découvert (5) permet d'éliminer l'argent (5), laissant ainsi à découvert le verre transparent (6). La feuille de vinyle (3) est ensuite retirée, mettant à découvert encore une fois la surface arrière peinte (2). Le miroir (1) est ainsi prêt pour que l'image soit fixée dans l'élément découpé (4), lequel est alors dépourvu d'argent et de peinture de renforcement.
