  • the invention is initially based on a method for producing a knitted or knitted fabric with a plurality of threads on a knitting or knitting machine with organs for adjusting the stitch size and with thread delivery devices for at least some of the threads, which are designed for measuring and regulating the thread tension, the speed of the threads being adjusted by a device for specifying the thread speed in order to regulate the thread tension.
  • the main idea of the invention is that, in accordance with the activation of the device for specifying the thread speed of a selected thread supply device, which results from the thread tension measured on this thread supply device, the devices for specifying the thread speed of all remaining thread supply devices are controlled.
  • a "master" thread delivery device is defined, the control of which the device for specifying the thread speed on the Devices for thread speed specification of all other "slave” thread delivery devices is mapped.
  • the threads on all thread delivery devices thus have the same speed, which means that the thread consumption is also the same for non-elastic threads. If an essentially identical thread speed with the same thread tension has already been set in advance of the actual manufacturing process by changing the organs for adjusting the stitch size, the thread tension will differ only slightly from thread feeding device to thread feeding device after the thread speeds have been synchronized. Changes to the machine are also at least partially compensated for by the master's regulation, which continues to work, and which adapts the thread speed to the specified thread tension.
  • This procedure elegantly takes advantage of the fact that it is not necessary to keep thread tension and thread speed constant for a high-quality, ring-free, smooth product, but only to ensure that a change in the thread speed is distributed over several rows of stitches does not occur from one stitch row to the other stitch row. This is ensured by the parallel connection of the thread speeds, with a change in the thread speed due to a control process on the "master" being allowed to take place over a larger number of stitches.
  • control signals for the device for specifying the thread speed of all remaining thread supply devices are generated from the movement of the device for specifying the thread speed of the selected thread supply device. In this way, the thread speed on the "master” thread delivery device is mapped directly to the "slave” thread delivery devices without the interposition of a control unit on the "master".
  • the organs for adjusting the stitch size can be actuated automatically, for example in the form of servo-controlled knitting locks
  • deviations in the thread tension on the thread delivery devices with respect to the thread tension on the selected thread delivery device can be compensated for by automatic readjustment of the organs to adjust the stitch size.
  • This measure can ensure that the same thread tension and the same thread speed always prevail on all thread delivery devices. Even with such a control, however, it is not a hindrance if the thread speed changes uniformly for all thread delivery devices by means of a control process on the "master" over a plurality of stitch rows.
  • Such a change in the thread speed is, as already described above, for example during manufacture of stockings even required to be able to hold the desired thread tension when carrying out the strength graduation.

This is particularly advantageous if a device for the manufacture of the knitted or knitted fabric is preset before the actual manufacture of the knitted or knitted fabric. Abstract
