  • the polyether alcohols according to the invention are outstandingly suitable for the production of polyurethanes, in particular flexible polyurethane foams. They are very well compatible with the other components of the polyurethane formulations and, despite their comparatively high content of ethylene oxide units in the polyether chain, are not very hydrophilic. Due to the higher reaction rate of the polymerization of ethylene oxide compared to propylene oxide, the space-time yield in the production of the polyether alcohols according to the invention is higher than in conventional polyether alcohols for the same fields of use. A further increase in the space-time yield can be achieved if at least some of the alkylene oxides are added as a catalyst using multimetal cyanide compounds.
