  • This generally improves the surface finish, dimensional accuracy and surface strength of the pattern members. This can mean that features such as curves and corners that were previously only possible by finish machining of the casting can now be produced without the need for such finish machining.

Abstract

L'invention concerne des modèles de coulée en mousse de polystyrène expansé, notamment ceux utilisés dans la fabrication d'outillage de coulée sous pression, fabriqués par assemblage d'au moins deux éléments (250, 280) de modèle de coulée, un élément de modèle au moins définissant une cavité (272, 294) fermée dans le modèle assemblé, ce qui réduit le volume total de polystyrène.
