  • the prefabricated lower threshold (2) shown in Drawing 5 has a long parallelepiped form or a similar form, which is cast of lightweight concrete or micro-concrete and reinforced by at least one bar (2.1) whose edges project outside the parallelepiped and serve as a threshold support to the girder (1).
  • Lightweight ceiling three-layered block (3) is shown in Drawings 3,4 and 5. Its dimensions and reinforcing bars are chosen according to: the bearing capacity of the ceiling, temperature protection, moisture and fire resistance; its bars are protected by coating if necessary.
  • the first lightweight layer (3.1) is made of lightweight concrete with a density smaller than 1500 kg/m3 and a compressive strength reaching 2 MPa, it is reinforced by a wire or welded wire fabric (3.4), which have a notch (3.5) at the edge.
  • the second nonbearing layer (3.2) is made of expanded polystyrene, mineral wool or similar super-light material or from lightweight concrete with a density smaller than 1000 kg/m3.
  • the third layer (3.3) is made of lightweight concrete, which is not obligatory.
  • the recommended dimensions are: length (B-dl) 45-65 cm, depth H 12-30 cm, bandwidth 20-50 cm.
  • Lightweight ceiling single-layer block (3) is shown in Drawings 3,4 and 5. It is made of lightweight aerated concrete, foamed concrete, expanded polystyrene concrete or similar materials, whose mass density is smaller than 900 kg/m3 and compressive strength reaches 2 MPa, tensile bending strength reaches 0.2 MPa, formed as a parallelepiped with a notch at the edge (3.5), if quadratic or of a similar form. The recommended dimensions are similar as for a three layered-block.
  • the lateral rib (4) is shown in Drawing 4.
  • Its reinforcing bars are in the lower zone (4.2), the reinforcing bars in the upper zone (4.3), which is not obligatory; it is cast in situ by lightweight-concrete or micro-concrete in the space formed between the threshold and the ceiling block, which together with a girder (1) form a grill structure resistant to out-of-plane and in-plane loads, especially seismic loads.
  • One of the possible methods for the production of a lightweight body of the girder (1), ceiling block (3) and lateral rib (4) is lightweight concrete based on the aggregate made as expanded polystyrene. If the lightweight concrete is made of the light expanded polystyrene aggregate, then the density should be higher than 800 kg/m3 if the elements are structural or exposed to any kind of fire load.
  • the application of this patent in industry is evident.
  • the proposed lightweight concrete masonry ceiling is applicable in practice as a new method for constructing various structures such as: flat slabs, roof slabs, stairs structures and similar, based on the system of prefabrication and connection derived from this patent.
