Abstract

The invention concerns a method of distributing parcels or other piece goods for delivery to addresses scattered throughout a supra-regional distribution system. The parcels are assembled at at least one depot and forwarded to distribution points from where they are delivered to the addressee by vehicle delivery rounds. In order to make the method more cost-effective and more rapid, the invention calls for the parcels to be grouped in delivery-round assemblies when they are taken to the depot, placed in a particular order corresponding to the course of a delivery round and brought in this order to the distribution points and placed in the vehicles. The container for carrying out the method is designed as a vehicle unit load with at least one closable access opening and preferably with internal shelves enabling parcels to be positioned in the correct order.

Description

Verfahren zur Verteilung von Paketen und Container zur Durchführung des Verfahrens Process for distributing packages and containers to carry out the process
The invention relates to a method for distributing packets according to the preamble of claim 1 and a container for performing the method.
The traditional transport systems of the Bundespost as well as other state or private parcel services in Germany and abroad have developed perfected and strongly networked distribution systems which, with a large number of distribution depots and distribution lines, provide cost-effective and cost-effective transport of each piece goods from sender to recipient strive for. Costs and transportation times are only partially determined by the length of the transport routes. Handling, sorting and handling times have a strong impact, and they also have a significant impact on cost accounting.
Sophisticated and multi-meshed systems They also prove to be not very flexible with regard to international expansion of areas, such as the common market in Europe. An expansion in the conventional manner leads to an unfavorable multiplication of distribution and transshipment stations that each package or the like. General cargo has to go through.
The object of the invention is to provide a method for distributing packets, which allows the distribution of packets and. The like. To make piece goods more economical and faster and, in particular, to open up other regions beyond the essentially national or regional boundaries. The object of the invention is also to create a container for carrying out the method.
The above object is achieved by a method based on the preamble of claim 1 with the characterizing features of the method. This procedure starts from the basic idea of a close-knit network of stations and lines and provides for a strong centralized distribution, in which the transport goods to be distributed are brought together to form a depot or at least a few, far-reaching central depots and "there already definitely in delivery-oriented units with each other Delivery records are grouped together, resulting in tour sets that are delivered as a whole from the central depot to distribution points, converted to vehicles in the distribution points, and delivered in the order already specified in the depot for a tour.
Decisive advantages over conventional ones multistage distribution processes result in particular in the saving in handling effort. A package may not be recorded several times, directed, reloaded and forwarded, and not placed in a position corresponding to the order of a tour at the distribution point, but goes from the depot via the distribution point in the specified sorting to the delivery tour.
It goes without saying that the transport of the tour sets from a depot to the distribution points is preferably carried out by large vehicles which extend a plurality of tour sets simultaneously and hand them over individually or in groups to the distribution points.
The piece goods are preferably combined into tour sets in the form of storage in containers, which are particularly well automated - e.g. create a manageable unit using forklift trucks and thereby form a reusable "packaging", which, however, can also be designed in particular as an attachment for a distribution vehicle, so that the advantage of the assignment in the depot according to the delivery has a particularly consistent design.
Furthermore, it goes without saying that such containers at the distribution points can also receive packages which have been delivered at the same time and which can advantageously be transported as return freight on the way back to a depot in the sense of central consolidation. The distribution points are thus expediently able to serve as collection points "on site". So that a delivery tour can begin without delay, preparatory work and tour planning, a delivery list is already added to the tour set at the depot, which not only contains delivery addresses, package names and the like identifies sentence. This makes delivery work easier and faster.
In particular, however, for simplifying and accelerating delivery, it is important that a systematic assignment of the packages or other general cargo is specified in the depot, which corresponds to the accessibility of the package and the delivery sequence. In this way, the deliverer can get to the next package to be delivered without searching.
The assignment within a container can be achieved in a particularly advantageous manner by uniformly designed shelves which are also assigned to one another in the sense of a sequence. The assignment of the packages to each other at the depot also allows a container to be filled completely. If the parcels closest when the container is opened are also those that arrive first, there is no harm if the parcels to be delivered are inaccessible only at the end of a tour.
However, such a system requires a central recording of tours, starting from the distribution points, and furthermore a central recording of the addressees, at least in the sense of a tour-specific sequence. It is only possible with appropriate preparatory work in a central Select depot packages according to tours of peripheral distribution points and line up the addressees within the tours. However, preparatory work of this type can be carried out with reasonable effort on the basis of the local knowledge of the personnel at the distribution points and on the basis of the possibilities for computer storage.
To solve the problem, a container in the form of a loadable vehicle attachment with at least one lockable access opening is further proposed according to the invention, in that the packages are placed on the depot side in an assignment intended for the delivery tour and are shipped as a unit for a tour set from the depot to a distribution point can where it can be placed on a delivery vehicle and enables a delivery tour to be carried out without further notice.
In der Zeichnung zeigen:An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing and will be described in more detail below. The drawing shows:
Fig. 1 Grundrißschema eines Depots,1 is a floor plan of a depot,
Fig. 2 Sattelaufliefer-Lastkraftwagen mit sechs Containern, Fig. 3 Außenansicht eines Einzelcontairiers, Fig. 4 schnittbildliche Darstellung eines Containers zur Innenaufteilung und Fig. 5 Auslieferungs-Fahrzeug mit Einzel¬ container.2 a semitrailer truck with six containers, FIG. 3 an external view of a single container, FIG. 4 a sectional representation of a container for interior division, and FIG. 5 delivery vehicle with a single container.
The depot, designated overall by 1 in FIG. 1, has a central delivery rail 2 and twelve branch rails 3, each branching in opposite directions therefrom, the ends of which have docking points are provided for trucks, such as are conceivable in the form of a semi-trailer truck according to FIG. 2. It is understood that motor vehicles or trailers can be docked here in the same way. Each of the branch rails has two rows for 6 places each for container 5, each of which is intended only for general cargo for a specific individual delivery tour in the area of a possibly very distant distribution point.
Several of these containers 5, in the simplest case a row to one side of one of the branch rails 3, are loaded onto a truck 6 (FIG. 2) and, if necessary, traveled over hundreds of kilometers to a distribution point, which in principle does not need to contain any complex facilities. The distribution point is, in particular, the take-over point for containers 5, which are converted individually from the truck 6 to a tour vehicle 7, which can be done, for example, by means of a forklift or another suitable loading tool.
In an accompanying document, the driver of vehicle 7 receives all the information that is important to him, such as the exact name of the tour, if different tours are considered from the distribution point, the individual delivery addresses for the packages or piece goods to be delivered and, in particular, information where the package is placed in the container.
In addition, the arrangement of the packages in the container is already systematized in such a way that the packages in the container are accessible during the tour, preferably even in the order be ready next.
The container 5 according to FIG. 3 is a predetermined fixed unit which is adapted to the standardized dimensions for large trucks during long-distance transport to the distribution points, which are linked to traffic and approval conditions. Latches on the ground side enable such a container to be easily moved in the depot, onto a truck and / or a delivery vehicle. 5, the delivery vehicles 7 are preferably tailor-made for the transport of such containers, especially with smaller wheels on the rear axle, which enable a low loading height and thus convenient access to the container 5.
The container 5 is provided with an access opening 8 which can be closed by a roller door 9. The roller door 9 creates a space-saving opening in the depot 1 as well as on the delivery vehicle 7, which can also be easily provided with a motor drive.
As Fig. 4 shows the (schematic) Innenein¬ is division of a container where in particular by shelves that divide the inner space into shelves 10 to 17 and which are charged such that d * ie shelves 10 in that order, ie starting with Shelf 10 and ending with shelf 17 to be emptied during the tour. The shelves are determined by shelves, which can be designed in the form of fold-up shelves 18 or fixed shelves 19. The movable shelves, in this case the shelves 18 that can be folded upwards against a lateral inner wall 20, allow one with increasing emptying Containers 5 To create space in the container, which makes work easier.
Basically, it must be taken into account that such a container 5 can be filled not only in the area of the shelf compartments, but also in the aisle area between the shelf compartments necessary for access to the shelf compartments, in the case of systematic loading. The emptying therefore initially takes place from the outside progressively inward from the access opening 9.
However, all of this presupposes a logistical concept in which the delivery tour, which usually comprises only a day tour in the vicinity of a distribution point, is already determined when the container is loaded in a central depot which may be a long way away. Even if local traffic disruptions or detours can give rise to rescheduling in individual cases, such a tour cannot be relocated or reversed as a whole. In the case of the small incidents mentioned, the systematic and schematic loading of the container is by no means problematic, but also supports a simple, easy-to-understand and problem-free operation.
Additional security is provided by the delivery list that is also created in the depot, which makes it possible to provide deviations from the assignment (cf. Should find space.
