Definitions
- the invention relates to a plastic closure cap according to the preamble of claim 1.
- closure caps have become established particularly in the beverage industry for closing single-use or reusable bottles.
- the cap jacket of such a closure is usually provided with a thread which can be brought into engagement with a thread on the bottle neck. Snap locks or locks with multiple threads and the like are also known.
- the inner part which projects approximately cylindrically from the cap base, carries a seal which, when the closure cap is applied to a container, engages with the inner wall of the container neck in order to seal the container.
- a plastic closure which has two sealing lips, one of which protrudes approximately horizontally from the inner part in the unassembled state and the other of which is designed as an extension of the inner part.
- This extension of the inner part forms a sealing zone and serves as a guide element.
- the horizontal sealing lip is bent back when it is screwed on and pressed from the inner part against the container mouth, so that a second sealing zone is created.
- the invention is based on the object of avoiding the disadvantages of the known, in particular thus creating a closure cap of the type mentioned at the outset, which also applies to containers with damage and irregularities at the rim of the mouth and / or larger diameter fluctuations seals wall-free.
- the interconnected sealing lips provided in the invention can be pivoted by the hinge part when placed on a container mouth such that they adapt optimally to the container opening.
- the two sealing lips can be arranged so that one of the sealing lips has a smaller outside diameter than the inside diameter of the container before pivoting. In this way, at least one of the seals can be inserted into the neck of the container without touching notches, burrs or fractures at the upper edge of the mouth of the container and thereby being damaged. Only after the seal with the smaller diameter has been introduced is the overall arrangement of the two sealing lips pivoted about the hinge part by the second sealing lip, as soon as it comes into engagement with the container neck.
- the overall arrangement of the two sealing lips can be pivoted particularly easily if the hinge part is arranged in the region of the outer wall of the inner part facing the cap casing.
- One of the sealing lips can advantageously be clamped between the inner part and the inner wall of the container, so that the sealing effect is increased.
- FIG. 1 shows a closure cap with the features of the invention
- FIG. 2 shows a modified exemplary embodiment of a closure cap according to FIG. 1,
- FIG. 3 shows a further modified embodiment of a closure cap according to the invention.
- Figure 4 shows another embodiment of the invention in up to 6 different phases of placing on a container.
- a closure cap 1 shown schematically and in the detail, has a cap base 2 and a cylindrical cap jacket 3, which in its extension has connecting elements, not shown, for positive connection to a container neck.
- the two sealing lips are connected to one another by means of a connecting element 7.
- the connecting element 7 is connected to the inner part 4 by a hinge part 8. All the elements described are manufactured in one piece using the plastic injection molding process.
- the hinge part 8 consists of an extension of the inner part 4 with such a small wall thickness that the connecting element 7 and the two sealing lips 5 and 6 can be pivoted relative to the inner part 4, as will be explained in more detail in connection with FIGS. 4 to 6.
- a third sealing lip 9 is provided in addition to the two sealing lips 5 and 6.
- the hinge part is approximately aligned with the outer wall of the inner part 4, so that when the closure is placed on a container neck, the sealing lip 6 can simply be bent up in the direction of arrow A until it runs approximately parallel to the inner part 4.
- the two sealing lips 5 and 9 are pivoted outwards in the direction of arrow B, so that they come into sealing engagement with the inner wall of the container neck.
- the hinge part 8 is approximately aligned with the inner wall of the inner part 4.
- the sealing lip 6 is therefore bent around the outer edge of the inner part 4, so that the bias of the sealing lip 6 against the inner wall of the container neck is increased.
- the two sealing sections 6a and 5a of the sealing lips 6 and 5 are pressed particularly strongly against the container neck.
- the two sealing lips 5 and 6 run approximately concentrically with the inner part.
- the outer sealing lip 6 has an outer diameter, which is larger than the inside diameter of the container neck 12.
- the inner sealing lip 5, on the other hand, has an outside diameter that is smaller than the container neck 12, so that the inner sealing lip 5 does not initially touch the container neck 12 and does not touch it Notches or burrs or other damage in the mouth area 13 can be damaged.
- the outer sealing lip 6 initially hits the area with its underside, which may have notches, burrs or other damage.
- the two sealing lips are pivoted about the hinge part 8.
- the inner sealing lip 5 is spread outwards and rests on the container neck 12 below the mouth region 13. After complete placement, as shown in FIG. 6, on the one hand the inner sealing lip 5 is pressed firmly outwards against the wall of the container neck 12. On the other hand, the outer sealing lip 6 is clamped between the inner part 4 and the container neck 12, so that a sealing effect also results in this area, even if the lower edge of the sealing lip 6 has been damaged by notches or burrs during insertion. This damage is also minimized by the arrangement according to the invention because the sealing lip 6 rolls practically on the damage when the two sealing lips 5 and 6 pivot outwards about the hinge part 8.
- the invention can be adapted as desired to special mouth configurations.
- the pivotability of the sealing lips around the hinge part ensures practically independent of the elasticity of the sealing lips, an optimal adaptation to the container neck.
- two, three or more sealing lips can be provided.
- the inner part can be made longer or shorter depending on the mouth.
