Definitions
- the invention is directed to a method for producing an aluminum tube and to an aluminum tube.
- Pasty and viscous products in particular are often offered for sale in tubes.
- the tubes are made of plastic, metal / plastic composite films or aluminum. So far, it is still common practice to pack or insert the tubes in folding boxes or blister packs or put in trays in groups in a transport packaging and to transport them to the point of sale in this transport packaging. As part of the efforts to avoid waste and packaging, efforts are now being made to save as much packaging material as possible.
- One way to save packaging material is to transport the tubes to several loosely poured into the transport packaging and thus to avoid folding boxes or blister packs. While such a transition can take place without any major problems for plastic tubes and tubes made of metal / plastic composite material, there is a risk with aluminum tubes that they will be damaged.
- Loose and freely moveable aluminum tubes slide back and forth during transportation, causing dents and folds, and furthermore, with their sharp-edged sealing folds, cause scratches on the colored and printed outer surfaces of the tubes when they are strung together. Tubes with dents and folds or scratched tubes are no longer accepted by the buyer in the shops as first-class goods and must therefore be sorted out as inferior rejects.
- the object of the invention is to provide a solution which enables the damage-free transport of several loose and freely movable aluminum tubes packed in a transport packaging.
- this object is achieved according to the invention in that after the extrusion and preferably after painting and / or printing the tube body, a plastic coating with a thickness of 50 ⁇ m to 200 ⁇ m is applied to at least partial areas of the outer tube surface is applied.
- Aluminum tubes provided with a plastic coating according to the invention have the same transport properties as plastic tubes or tubes made of metal / plastic composite material. The advantageous properties of the aluminum tube are retained.
- the plastic coating is a polyolefin, in particular polypropylene (PP) or polyethylene (PE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polystyrene (PS) or polyurethane foam (PU) by flame spraying, extruding, sealing or labeling with adhesion promoter is applied by means of pressure sensitive adhesive or as a hot melt, as the invention provides in a further development.
- PP polypropylene
- PE polyethylene
- PVC polyvinyl chloride
- PS polystyrene
- PU polyurethane foam
- the plastic coating may also be expedient for the plastic coating to be sealed or shrunk on as a plastic tube.
- plastic coating being used as a coating lacquer layer, preferably by printing, is applied, as is also provided by the invention.
- Conventional printing processes for coating can be used here.
- a transparent or transparent plastic coating is applied after the bare tube has been colored, or a plastic coating colored with color pigments is applied and then printed becomes.
- the above-mentioned object is achieved according to the invention by a plastic coating with a thickness of 50 ⁇ m to 200 ⁇ m on at least partial areas of the outer surface of the tube.
- the plastic coating consists of a polyolefin, in particular polypropylene (PP) or polyethylene (PE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polystyrene (PS) or polyurethane foam (PU).
- PP polypropylene
- PE polyethylene
- PVC polyvinyl chloride
- PS polystyrene
- PU polyurethane foam
- the plastic coating is transparent, as the invention also provides in a further embodiment.
- a tube body is first pressed in an extrusion process from an aluminum ronde, as is customary in the production of aluminum tubes.
- This tube body is then also lacquered and / or printed as is known from the usual tube production.
- a plastic coating with a thickness of 50 ⁇ m to 200 ⁇ m is then applied to the outer lateral surface of the tub body.
- This plastic coating is applied at least to partial areas of the outer tube surface, for example certain areas of the tube body, such as the fold area, can remain free of the plastic coating.
- the plastic coating can also be applied partially in different thicknesses or pigmented in different colors.
- Polyolefins are used as plastic coatings, in particular polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polystyrene (PS) or polyurethane foam (PU) use. These are applied to the outer surface of the tube by known methods such as flame spraying or extrusion.
- the plastic coating can also be glued or sealed as an adhesive tape or label, which then has a pressure-sensitive adhesive coating on one side.
- the plastic coating by sealing or shrinking a plastic tube onto the plastic body.
- a transparent or transparent plastic layer is then applied to the tube body. It is also possible to apply a plastic coating colored with colored pigments. It is also possible to color-print and / or lacquer the tube body after the plastic coating has been applied.
- the plastic coating is applied in a thickness of 50 ⁇ m to 200 ⁇ m. Such a strength is sufficient to ensure adequate transport protection. The outside aluminum surface of the tube body is thus adequately protected against scratching and the formation of dents. On the other hand, the plastic coating is also sufficiently thick so that scratches and slight dents, which are scratched into the plastic coating during transport, do not appear as conspicuous damage to the tube.
