- the present invention relates to a seed carrier for the greening of inclined surfaces.
- Seed carriers are already known in which the seeds are incorporated into a non-woven or non-woven flat structure or are glued to it. Such seed carriers have the disadvantage that they either have to be covered with a layer of humus in order to come into surface contact with the subsoil, so that on the one hand the seed roots can strike into the subsoil and on the other hand that they dry out too quickly and thus destroy the germinating seeds can be counteracted. There is also the possibility of additionally fastening such seed-bearing fleeces to the floor by means of nails or the like. If such fleece-shaped seed carriers are laid out on inclined surfaces, there is the danger that the humus layer spread over them will slide off or be washed away in heavy rainfall.
- German patent specification 826516 it is known to apply seeds on a string at regular intervals and to insert the string into the ground by means of a corresponding device. In this way, for example, corn kernels or the like can be automatically inserted into the ground at a precisely predetermined distance from a vehicle.
- Seeds lined up on a cord are only suitable for planting large plants, which must also be arranged at a mutual distance from one another. Furthermore, the cord only serves to introduce the seeds into the soil; it is designed so that it rots as quickly as possible. For large-scale greening, especially special inclined surfaces, such cords are not suitable.
