Definitions
- the present invention relates to a novel shelf in which the vertical, i.e. the elements supporting the shelves and the shelves themselves preferably made of wood or wood substitute materials, such as Chipboard or blockboard exist.
- Conventional shelves usually consist of vertical cheeks, into which supporting parts such as gags or brackets or the like are inserted into predetermined perforated grids in order to place the shelves thereon. Since the vertical cheeks alone are structurally unstable, they are connected to one another at least by rear walls. Other constructions consist of vertical bars connected by horizontal bars. These "ladders” are also braced and made stable by rear walls or rope tension or cross bars.
- the present invention has set itself the task of creating a shelf that is self-supporting, i.e. that does not require any stiffening elements between the spars carrying the shelves.
- the shelves are machine-made and have a low tolerance, as are the slot openings in the bars. It is therefore readily possible to initially hold the shelves in the four spars in the clamped position in order to carry out the screwing in the case of vertically standing spars.
- the spars have an elongated hexagonal cross section with edges parallel to the bevel and adjoining them, the edges parallel to the bevel including a right angle and the angles bisect between the right angles has the length (b) of the bevel (a) of the corner areas, the slot depth reaching to the bisector.
- the outer surfaces, which visually chamfer the spar from the shelf, are significantly smaller than the chamfers the shelf corners so that a pleasing, slightly "rounded" contour is created after assembly.
- the shelf edges are picked up by the spars and continued up to the outer inclined surface. It is considered to be a structurally particularly favorable solution that the edges enclosing the right angles are longer than the edges lying parallel to the bevels.
- the plug connection can consist of two or more pins and corresponding bores on the counterpart or also of polygonal pins and correspondingly contoured depressions.
- Figure 1 shows a spar
- Figure 2 shows a shelf shelf
- Figure 3 shows shelf variants in plan view
- Figure 5 shows a cross-section of the spar
- Figure 6 shows an auxiliary spar.
- FIG. 1 shows a spar 1 which has a plurality of slots 2 spaced apart from one another at a preselected grid spacing.
- the cross section is e.g. rectangular.
- the slot width a is matched to the shelf to be assembled in such a way that it is held in a slight clamping fit.
- the spar 1 is penetrated by a screw 5 such that the longitudinal axis of the screw in the center of the slot, ie at a / 2.
- the screw head 10 is countersunk and possibly covered with a wooden disc or the like.
- the cross-section of the spar is preferably hexagonal, so that it has two opposite vertical outer edges 11.
- a rectangular shelf 3 for mounting in the slots 2 of the spar 1 is shown. This has at least two beveled corner areas 4 on the long side, the length b of the bevel 9 corresponding to the width of the slots 2. In particular, the bevel 9 adjoins the shelf edges 10, 10 'at an angle of 135 * each.
- the slots 2 of the spars 1 can also be designed in a wedge shape.
- the slots 2 are preferably formed slightly deeper than the inclined surfaces 9 engage in them, so that the screws 10 a tight fit is possible even with any manufacturing tolerances.
- FIG. 3 shows a fully assembled shelf (or a shelf section, FIG. 4), four bars 1 being placed on the shelf 3. As shown, only two spars 1 can be placed on corresponding bevels 9 on a longitudinal edge of the shelf, the opposite corners remaining at right angles and the opposite spars 1 being able to be mounted offset toward the center of the shelf. ⁇
- the crosspieces 1 have edges 7 which abut one another at right angles in cross section, as a result of which the outer edge extends the shelf edge 10 towards the front oblique edge 6.
- the long axis of the screws 5 (FIG. 1) is indicated by dashed lines 13 and serves for securing in the press fit of the shelves 3 in the spars 1.
- the slot base in the spar i.e. its diagonal bisector 8 and the shelf slope 9 together in plan view.
- FIG. 4 shows a variant, the spar being divided into sections 14, 14 '.
- the spar section 14 shown above has a preferably polygonal pin 15, the lower section 14 'has a correspondingly shaped receptacle 16 so that the parts are secured against rotation.
- the upper spar section 14 has a pin receptacle for inserting the next spar section.
- FIG. 5 shows an enlarged representation of the preferred cross section of a spar 1.
- the spar cross-sectional edges 6 and 7 are of unequal length, the edges 6 abutting at right angles, so that an angle ⁇ of 135 * between the edges 6 and 7 is the same as in the case of the shelves arises.
- the length b of the diagonals 8 is at least twice as large as the material thickness of the shelf used and at least 3 times as long as the length c of the short, parallel and mirror-opposite edges 7.
- a length of the diagonals 8 of approximately 42 mm and a length c of the edge 7 of 12.8 mm have proven to be suitable.
- the cross-section of the spar was created from a square by cutting off triangular segments adjoining the edges 7, so that production from screed material is possible.
- FIG. 6 shows a spar 1, in which, contrary to the ones described above, it is also possible to mount shelves lying directly opposite one another.
- the latter has a steel sheet 17 of the width of the desired diagonals 8 (FIG. 5), onto which corresponding wooden trapezoidal parts 18 are glued (or screwed).
- the steel sheet 17 can take up the hexagon contour and converge on the narrow sides to form a longitudinal edge 19.
