Definitions
- Ready-to-use cartridges or tubes are available for cementing, sealing and gluing in industry and commerce, but the longer the more in the hobby area.
- the forms of trade and the extrusion tools required are just as diverse as the products to be processed.
- a system consisting of compatible cartridges and putty or squeeze guns must therefore be created urgently, which allows the user to make do with a minimum of devices and cartridges.
- fatigue-free, clean work must be possible without having to rely on stationary or mobile energy sources.
- Kit extrusion tools exist for professional applications. These are mainly used in the construction industry. Masons, plumbers, glaziers, roofers, insulators, floor layers, plumbers, road builders, roofers and even carpenters use these tools almost every day. Joints, joints between panels, etc. can be perfectly sealed, overlapping formwork parts or adjacent frame Ment parts can be glued perfectly. It is therefore not surprising that the crowd of users of kit extrusion tools is constantly growing.
- the extrusion tools for professional use hereinafter referred to as putty guns in colloquial language, have a rather complicated structure and are sometimes unwieldy. For example, there is a cement gun with a compressed air drive.
- the * energy-independent hand-operated putty guns or squeezing tools are most often used for repairs, repair work and also in the hobby area.
- a disposable cartridge that can be pressed out by a directly inserted threaded spindle.
- handling this device is not easy; the cartridge must be pulled along the joint to be sealed with one hand, while the other hand must be turned on the flat handle at the end of the threaded spindle in order to push the ejection piston through the cartridge.
- This way of working requires a lot of practice and concentration.
- this tool is not suitable for long joints because it tires very quickly. The result of this is that the hands shake, it is then no longer possible to point the spray nozzle cleanly at the joint.
- tubes are offered that can be rolled up from the flattened rear side with a kind of key, so that the putty emerges from the front through a screwed-on spray nozzle. These tubes are just still suitable for the household. But even for more demanding handicrafts, they are too small and too cumbersome to use.
- the putty gun described below has an ideal drive for clean, fatigue-free work without having to rely on external energy supply.
- a new permanent cartridge was invented, which is suitable for holding the most frequently used disposable cartridges and foil cartridges. Show it:
- the new glue gun 1 (Fig. 1) has an accumulator drive.
- the accumulator 2 and the actual drive, consisting of an electric motor 3 and a reduction gear 4, are integrated into the housing 5.
- the drive is completely maintenance-free.
- the accumulator 2 is, as is usual with cordless drills, attached to the bottom of the pistol handle 9. This results in a handy, robust device that is independent of external energy sources.
- the drive is switched on by simple finger pressure on the switch 6.
- Another advantage of the battery-operated putty gun is already evident: the putty gun can be operated quietly, without effort and therefore without fatigue. This makes it easier for beginners in particular to achieve good work results.
- the switch 6 is protected by a protective bracket 7, as is known from firearms.
- the switch 6 is a multi-stage switch. Immediately after actuation, it goes through the first stage. The spindle 8 rotates backwards. If the switch 6 is fully pushed into the pistol handle 9, the spindle 8 rotates forward. The new drive behaves Now as follows: If the work is stopped when the putty or adhesive is pressed out and the switch 6 is released, this inevitably passes through the first stage, which, as mentioned above, causes the spindle 8 to be turned back. This immediately reduces the pressure on the ejection piston of the inserted cartridge. This prevents the previously known annoying flow of putty or glue after the work has been stopped. The cause of the reflowing to date is due to the behavior of the viscous putty or adhesive.
- the pressure required for pressing out must first be built up so that the putty or adhesive begins to flow at all. After stopping work, the putty or glue is still under pressure. It tends to expand to relieve internal pressure. The putty or glue can only expand through the opening in the spray nozzle, which means that it continues to flow. In simple words: The putty behaves like a pretensioned spring! If the spindle 8 now rotates back a few millimeters, the putty can also expand and especially to the rear. As a result, only the ejection piston of the cartridge is pushed to the rear, which applies a much lower back pressure than the narrow opening in the spray nozzle. The internal pressure is quickly reduced, not a drop of putty or adhesive flows.
- the speed of the spindle 8 and thus the squeezing speed can be adjusted via a selector lever 10.
- Position "1" corresponds to a slow feed of the spindle, while position "2" corresponds to a fast feed.
- the speed of the electric motor 3 and thus the spindle 8 changes. Coupled with the constant squeezing out of the cartridges, this means that the battery-operated cement guns can be used universally, are easy to use and very good Deliver work results.
- a single accumulator is estimated to be sufficient to squeeze out more than five cartridges. If more cartridges need to be processed, it is easily possible, for example in a suitable system case, to carry spare batteries with charger, a certain number of cartridges could even be taken. This makes it clear that the battery-operated putty guns are virtually predestined for mobile use. A practical solution especially for service personnel.
- the spindle 8 consists of one piece.
- the ejector 13 (FIG. 1) is riveted onto the front end and presses on the ejection piston 28 of the cartridge. The riveting is carried out in such a way that the squeezer does not rotate with the spindle 8.
- an end stop disk 14 (FIG. 1) is screwed on. By removing this disc, the spindle 8 can be extended from the drive. This is a great advantage for repairs, for example on the gearbox.
- the part of the spindle 8 which is completely extended to the rear in the case of newly inserted cartridges is also protected against contamination.
- a plastic bellows 15 is placed over the spindle 8, which disappears in the bush 16 in the completely retracted state.
- the spindle 8 is actually driven by the spindle drive gear 18 of the gear 3, the bore of which is provided with a worm thread that matches the thread of the spindle.
- the spindle drive gear 18 (FIG. 3)
- the latter is guided on both sides between axial groove ball bearings 19 which are very suitable for this purpose.
- Guide bushes 20 (FIG. 1) ensure that the spindle 8 does not have too much lateral play. This is necessary in order to avoid wear of the spindle, the drive gear 18 and its worm thread.
- the bore 30 (FIG. 2) of the disks of the axial ring ball bearing so closely and to manufacture them so thick that they themselves serve as a guide bush.
- a tube with an internal thread 23 is now integrated into the housing 5 as an extension of the housing in the area of the spindle drive 17.
- the external thread 24 of the new permanent cartridge 22 (FIG. 4) is screwed into this internal thread.
- the pitch of the internal thread 23 is opposite to that of the spindle 8. puts. This prevents the screwed-in cartridge from rotating with the spindle and unscrewing itself.
- the cartridge holder 11 (FIG. 1) extends as far as the end wall 12 of the housing 5. At the end of this there is a holding ring 25, the clear width of which is so large that the external thread 24 can be pushed through without problems when the new permanent cartridge is attached can.
- the new permanent cartridge 31 (FIG. 3) has no thickening and no external thread for the well-known putty guns. It is designed in such a way that it is fully compatible with the previous putty guns, but additionally has all the advantages of the new permanent cartridge 22 (FIG. 4) for the battery-operated putty guns 1.
- the cover 27 (FIG. 3, FIG. 4) of the new permanent cartridge 22, 31 can be unscrewed for inserting disposable cartridges or foil cartridges and then screwed on again. It is only necessary to take into account that when working with film cartridges in the permanent cartridge 22 (FIG. 4), the ejection piston 28 is plugged onto the ejector 13.
- the foil cartridges do not have an ejection piston like the disposable cartridges.
- at least six catches 29 are attached to the inside of the ejector, as in the well-known disposable cartridges, distributed over the circumference. In this way, the ejection piston can simply be plugged onto the ejector and removed when not in use.
- the outer diameter of the ejection piston 28 is the same size as the inner diameter 23 of the new permanent cartridge 22 (FIG. 4).
- the film cartridges are thus pressed out in a uniform manner and it is prevented that a bulge of non-pressed material is formed between the pressing plate 13 and the inner wall of the permanent cartridge 22. This could cause the film cartridge to tear, especially when it comes to designs that are not made of highly tear-resistant film.
- the new battery-operated putty gun allows cartridges to be squeezed out cleanly and evenly. Thanks to the pistol handle and the switch that can be operated without any significant effort, quiet, shake-free and, above all, fatigue-free work is possible. Since you are not dependent on any external energy sources, countless application possibilities open up.
