  • the invention in one of its aspects relates to altering the surface characteristics of spun yarn by moving compressed air in a direction perpendicular and opposite to yarn movement.
  • the invention in another aspect, relates to a method of passing a length of spun yarn through an air jet nozzle, thus causing long fibers to wrap around the yarn surface. Surface contamination is also stripped away by the force of the applied airstream.
