Abstract
Afin de constituer pour les cylindres des machines équipées de cylindres, notamment des presses à cylindres travaillant sous haute pression, en bordure de la partie frontale, un blindage anti-usure, présentant une durabilité élevée, applicable de façon économique sur le matériau de base du cylindre et offrant, dès l'application, une surface lisse, sans avoir besoin de recourir à des meulages coûteux, il est proposé de pratiquer dans le matériau de base du cylindre, à partir de la surface cylindrique, une saignée annulaire (13), à proximité immédiate des parties frontales du cylindre, de manière à appliquer, par soudage, dans cette saignée, des couches tampons métalliques (18), puis des couches de blindage (19) et d'usiner par tournage avec enlèvement de copeaux les bordures des parties frontales (11) du cylindre, en arrêtant le tournage juste avant d'atteindre la saignée annulaire, de manière à ménager une mince paroi limitrophe extérieure (16) de la saignée annulaire (13), formée par le matériau de base du cylindre, d'une épaisseur (g) d'un peu moins de 2 mm.
