Abstract

Le matériau mince et flexible à pouvoir thermo-isolant décrit, qui est conçu pour être utilisé avec des vêtements ou des meubles ou par exemple comme drap de matelas à eau, se compose de couches de couverture textile externes (2 et 10) et d'une ou de plusieurs couches internes d'un matériau en plaques mince (4 et 8) en polystyrène expansé d'une épaisseur de 1 à 2 mm. Entre deux de ces couches est installée une mince couche (6) de mousse plastique ou de coton de rembourrage, qui empêche les couches de polystyrène de frotter directement l'une contre l'autre. Les couches de polystyrène peuvent être brisées localement, tout en étant maintenues en place par les coutures piquées (12, 24) du matériau. Un tel matériau peut, dans une large gamme d'applications, remplacer par exemple les coussins chauffés électriquement et, en ce qui concerne son nettoyage, peut être manipulé et traité comme de la lessive ordinaire.
