Definitions
- the invention relates to a mixing container with ejection devices for a plastic mass, in particular for dental purposes, and an actuating device therefor, the mixing container being a mixing chamber, at one end of which there is an ejection opening, a piston which is displaceable in the mixing chamber and the other Forms end of the mixing chamber delimiting perforated wall, and beyond the perforated wall comprises a receiving chamber for a film container containing a liquid component and wherein the ejection device comprises a holder for the mixing container and a plunger for pressing the film container against the perforated wall, and further comprising a device for holding the Piston is provided relative to the force exerted by the stamp on the film container.
- the mixing vessel of the type .berianenen is initially by means of a punch which 'may be wholly or partially be disposed within the mixing vessel downstream of the receiving chamber, so great a pressure on the Foil container exercised that this bursts in the region of the opening of the perforated wall and pours its contents into the mixing chamber.
- the mixing container is then clamped in a vibration mixer, which shakes it at high frequency approximately in the direction of its longitudinal axis and thereby intimately mixes the components in the mixing chamber with one another to form the ready-to-use mass.
- the ejection opening of the mixing container is opened and it is clamped into the ejection device, which drives the piston forward within the mixing chamber by means of a plunger or plunger in order to eject the mass.
- the piston delimiting the receiving chamber on the side of the mixing chamber must be held in position in order to be able to exert a corresponding counterforce. Otherwise it would move into the mixing chamber, so that the resulting pressure would not be sufficient to destroy the film container and the volume of the mixing chamber would be reduced.
- the piston is pot-shaped for this purpose and its wall, which surrounds the receiving chamber and the stamp located behind it, protrudes from the rear of the mixing container, where it is an attachment part for forms a bayonet ring, which secures it against unwanted displacement in the direction of the mixing chamber.
- a screw cap which forms the receiving chamber with an additional perforated wall, can be removed after emptying the film container, the opening remaining in the piston by means of a special part or stamp during ejection of the mixed material must be closed.
- the handling is complicated and the structure is complex. There is also the risk that harmful gaseous monomers will escape through the piston opening during handling.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of simplifying the construction and handling of the mixing container.
- the solution according to the invention consists in that the device for holding the piston is formed by a clamp of the actuating device which holds the piston through the mixing container wall.
- the mixing container wall contains at least one opening and the piston has a recess for the passage or engagement of part of the bracket of the actuating device. It is more expedient to arrange two openings and recesses opposite one another so that the mixing container can be inserted between two clamp parts of the device which engage in these openings and recesses.
- the clamp parts can be moved relative to one another like pliers, but they are advantageously rigidly connected to one another.
- These can be those runners which, in known ejection devices, cooperate with the end face of the mixing container which carries the ejection tube, so that one and the same device for emptying the film container into the mixing space while simultaneously fixing the piston and for ejecting the mixed one Mass from the mixing container can be used.
- Another embodiment principle of the inventive concept is based on the fact that the device-side clamp acts on the piston through the resilient container wall and clamps it in the intended position.
- Fig. 4 shows a section along line IV-IV of Fig. 1 and the front view an associated actuating device
- Fig. 6 shows a second embodiment of the
- FIGS. 6 and 7 shows a front view of the actuating device according to FIGS. 6 and
- Fig. 8 shows a third embodiment
- the mixing container consists of a container body 1, which has a cylindrical wall 2, a front end face 3 and therein an ejection tube 4, which can be closed by means of a stopper 5.
- the piston 7 contains an annular groove 12.
- the wall 2 of the container body 1 in the position according to FIG. 1, ie before use contains two diametrically opposite openings 13 which - As can be seen from Fig. 4, are slit-shaped, so that the wall parts 14 remaining between them extend over a width that is less is the outside diameter of the piston 7.
- the associated actuating device of known design has an end plate 15 which contains a cutout 17 delimited by parallel runners 16. Behind the end plate 15, a receiving space 18 is formed for the mixing container, in which a plunger 19 can be advanced by means of a mechanism, not shown.
- this device is used in such a way that the runners 16 engage in front of the end face 3 of the mixing container when the piston and the plunger are driven by means of the plunger 9 in order to eject the mass.
- the clear distance between the runners 16 is less than the outer diameter of the piston 7 and slightly larger than the width of the wall parts 14, so that the runners 16 when inserted from the side into the slot-shaped openings 13 of grasp both sides through the openings 13 into the annular groove 12 of the piston 7 and thereby fix it in its position.
- This state is shown in Fig.l. It can be seen that when the plunger 19 now advances, the plunger 11 can be advanced against the piston 7 while emptying the film container 10, the force exerted on the piston 7 being taken over directly by the runners 16.
- the punch 11 has a front area 20 with a larger and a rear area 21 with a smaller diameter.
- the wall 2 of the container body contains, where the front, larger area 20 is in the position according to FIG. 1, openings 22 which correspond to the openings 13 in shape and arrangement.
- openings 22 which correspond to the openings 13 in shape and arrangement.
- FIGS. 1 to 5 has the advantage that the mixing container is constructed in a very simple manner and nevertheless reliable, simple and error-proof handling is possible by means of a design-proven actuating device.
- FIGS. 6 and 7 is the same as that according to FIGS. 1 to 5, with the exception that no openings are provided in the wall 2 of the container body 1 for the action of the runners 16 on the piston 7, but rather the elastic deformability of the wall 2 is used, which deforms with a strong radial clamping of the runners 16 into the annular groove 12 of the piston 7.
- runners 16 do not engage in the area of the annular groove 12, but rather on the mixing chamber side in front of the piston 7.
- Laterally movable runners 16 according to FIG. 6 or a wedge-shaped arrangement of the same according to FIG. 7 are suitable for this function.
- the radial clamping of the piston 7 through the wall 2 is based on the wedge effect of the runners 23 forming the device-side clamp, which can be formed, for example, by a ring wedge surface 24 opening towards the plunger 19, which cooperates with an annular projection 25 on the outer surface of the wall 2 of the container body 1 and which is located slightly in front of the piston 7 on the mixing comb side. If the force of the plunger 19 acts on the mixing container in the direction of the arrow 26, a counterforce acting in the direction of the arrow 27 results on the runners 23, which leads to a radial compression of the annular projection 25 via the wedge surfaces 24, whereby the piston 7 in the wall 2 is clamped.
- the effect can be enhanced by equipping the inside of the wall 2 with a ring projection 28 of a known type.
- the piston 7 could only move past the ring projection 28 if the wall 2 expands elastically at this point; it is prevented by the runners 23.
- the force threshold generated by known inner ring projections (see the prior art explained at the outset) against a forward movement of the piston 7 is based exclusively on the elastic restoring force of the container wall 2, which is why the projections have to be made relatively large, a very small one is sufficient for the effect according to the invention Height of the inner ring projection 28. Since it is held rigidly by the runners 23 or even pressed inwards, the disadvantages of similar known designs are eliminated here.
