Definitions
- the invention relates generally to a heating furnace for hot material, e.g. Slabs, billets, blocks or the like and in particular to a support system for supporting heating material which is conveyed through a heating furnace, with a cooled support tube running in the conveying direction and fitted with riders, optionally arranged at a distance one behind the other in the conveying direction, on the upper side of which there are contact surfaces for the heating material are provided.
- the tabs also called top sections, serve to reduce the influence of the cooling effect of the support tubes through which the coolant flows on the heating material.
- Such support systems and associated rider constructions are known for example from DE patents 1 094 778, 2 231 223 and 2 341 357 and from DE-OS 27 05 745. All these known rider constructions have in common that the contact surfaces of the riders on which the heating material is supported, like the riders themselves, are arranged one behind the other in a line running in the direction of transport.
- the invention is based on the knowledge that the known arrangement and design of the rider support surfaces leads to the formation of pronounced cooling shadow zones on the heating material, which hinder or even make impossible a uniform temperature distribution on the heating material passing through the heating furnace.
- the invention has for its object to design and arrange the contact surfaces of the riders of the support system so that changing areas of the heating material come into contact with the rider contact surfaces as it passes through the heating furnace, so that the supported regions of the heating material in the furnace heated directly and a more uniform temperature in the material to be heated is achieved.
- this object is achieved according to the invention in that the contact surfaces of the riders are arranged alternately from one side to the other of a vertical central plane running in the conveying direction.
- the contact surfaces of the riders preferably have such a width and arrangement that they mutually release at least 50% of the surfaces of the material to be heated that come into contact with them for heating.
- the support surfaces which are offset laterally in sections in the conveying direction, zigzag or serpentine supports the heating material against changing attack surfaces, the surfaces of the heating material which come into contact with the support surfaces are heated directly in the furnace for at least 50% of the dwell time, so that a both uniform and further heating of the heating material treated in the heating furnace is achieved.
- more uniform temperatures in the hot material guarantee better dimensional accuracy and quality * for the rolled products made from the hot material.
- the supporting webs of the riders, on which the bearing surfaces supporting the material to be heated are arranged change at a relatively short distance from one side to the other of the vertical central plane, which is arranged essentially on the central axis of the supporting tube. This prevents one-sided loads, combined with torsional stresses on the support tubes.
- each rider of the support system is arranged at least in a longitudinal section on one side to the left or right of the vertical central plane.
- the invention provides various embodiments for this.
- the rider can have at least two contact surfaces alternating left and right next to the vertical center line; it can have a support surface arranged on one side next to the vertical center; or it can at least one continuously crossing the vertical central plane have a running contact surface.
- all riders belonging to a suspension system have identical training.
- the build-up of scale on the rider surfaces can be minimized in that the surface of the rider next to the support surface is chamfered.
- Fig. 1A is a cross-sectional view of the essential
- FIG. 1B is a plan view of a rider arrangement of the support system according to FIG. 1A;
- FIGS. 1A and 1B views corresponding to FIGS. 1A and 1B on a modified embodiment of the invention
- Fig. 3 is a plan view similar to that of FIG.
- FIG. 4 shows a top view corresponding to FIG. 3 of another embodiment of the rider construction
- FIG. 5 shows a plan view of a rider arrangement, the riders of which each have the design shown in FIG. 3, but in another rer arrangement are placed on the cooled support tube;
- Fig. 6 is a plan view of a rider arrangement, the rider of Fig. 4 corresponding training, but have a different arrangement on the support tube.
- reference numeral 1 represents (1'), 2 (2 ') a preferably al existing ceramic Materi ⁇ insulation of the supporting tube, 3 (a, b, c and d) which can be placed one on the supporting tube Rider, 4 (a, b, c, d) the changing surfaces of the rider in the support system, 5 a roof-shaped bevelled surface of the rider next to the bearing surface, 6 a nose protruding laterally over the rider legs to cover the joint between the Rider and the insulation, 7 recesses in the contact surfaces of the right leg with the support tube, 8 a mounting of the rider on the support tube, 9 a section of the heating material supported by the changing support surfaces and 10 one in the sliding or conveying direction vertical medium plane of the material to be heated.
- each tab 3a has two contact surfaces 4a which are arranged alternately to the left and right next to and parallel to the vertical center plane 10. Correspondingly alternating are the roof-shaped bevelled surfaces 5 of the tab 3a next to the respective contact surfaces 4a. Above these roof-shaped beveled surfaces 5, which have a greater width than the adjacent contact surfaces 4a, the heat material 9 is released for heating. The heat material 9 therefore lies alternately on the left and right of the central plane 10 in the transport direction parallel to the support tube axis Contact surfaces 4a.
- the support webs provided with the support surfaces 4a are, as shown in FIG. 1B, mutually offset on each tab 3a and relatively short, so that a torsional load on the support tubes over the support web sections which are arranged off-center is avoided.
- the lugs 6 projecting on both sides cover the joint between the tab 3a and the insulation 2. This prevents harmful scale from penetrating between the insulation 2 and the cooled support tube 1.
- the top surfaces of the rider legs on the support tube 1 are provided with recesses 7, which reduce the contact surfaces of the rider with the support tube 1 by at least 30 and thereby the cooling effect of the cooled support tube 1 over the. Reduce tab 3a to the heating material 9.
- each tab has only one contact surface 4b, which is arranged parallel to the central plane 10.
- the riders 3b are identical to one another, but are rotated in the support system as shown in FIG. 2B by 180 ° against each other on the rectangular support tube 1 'shown in FIG. 2A. Through this arrangement of the riders 3b one behind the other, the bearing surfaces 4b of a plurality of riders are arranged alternately on the left and right in parallel next to the central plane 10.
- All tabs 3a and 3b can be used in connection either with the round support tube 1 and the round insulation 2 or with the square support tube 1 'and the associated edge-provided insulation 2'.
- the course of the support surfaces 4a and 4b, which is parallel to the central plane and thus to the conveying direction, has alternating left and right of the central plane 10 the advantage that no transverse forces act on the heating material when it is transported through the furnace via the support system.
- the rider structures and arrangements shown in FIGS. 3, 4, 5 and 6, like the exemplary embodiments according to FIGS. 1 and 2, have contact surfaces which mutually release at least 50% of the surfaces of the material 9 coming into contact with them for heating.
- the webs of the riders bearing the support surfaces according to FIGS. 3 to 6 run continuously from one side to the other of the central plane.
- the support surface 4c runs in a straight line and obliquely to the central plane.
- the oblique bearing surface 4c ends on the right side of the end face of each rider 3c and the vertical central plane 10 on the opposite end side of the rider 3c on the left.
- the identically designed riders 3c are placed one behind the other on the supporting tube in such a way that the bearing surfaces 4c of several riders 3c have a zigzag shape.
- FIG. 5 are the same as in FIG. 3.
- the arrangement on the support tube is different.
- the riders are arranged one behind the other on the support tube with a corresponding course of their support surfaces 4c, the support surfaces ending on the mutually facing end faces of adjacent riders in each case on different sides of the central plane 10.
- the contact surfaces 4d of the tabs 3d have a serpentine course and change continuously under crossing the Middle level 10 from one side to the other. Similar to the arrangement in FIGS. 3 and 5, the serpentine course in the arrangement according to FIG. 4 is continued from one to another tab 3d, while in FIG. 6 the contact surfaces 4d on the mutually facing end faces of adjacent tabs are in each case on different sides of the tab Middle level end.
