Abstract

Se describe un procedimiento para la producción de ácido clavulánico y/o sus sales. La misma se realiza mediante cultivo de "Streptomyces clavuligerus" ATCC 27064 o de mutantes obtenidos del mismo, en fermentación sumergida con aireación y agitación, en cultivo en lotes, semi-continuo o continuo, en el que las concentraciones de fosfato soluble se fijan al inicio y/o mantienen a lo largo de la fermentación, dentro de unos determinados valores. Las concentraciones de fosfato soluble presentes en el medio de cultivo se fijan al inicio y/o se mantienen a lo largo de la fermentación mediante precipitación de dicho fosfato soluble, se éste excede de los límites deseados. Dicho fosfato soluble se precipita mediante la adición de un compuesto de calcio al medio de cultivo. Se emplea una fuente de carbono que consiste en uno o más triglicéridos, naturales o sintéticos, que son añadidos al comienzo de la fermentación y/o a lo largo de la misma. La fermentación se lleva a cabo a una temperatura de 20-40ºC.
