Abstract

Se describe un proceso para la producción de un material de planta de Eucalyptus genéticamente modificado que comprende una o más secuencias de ADN incorporadas en forma estable de interés, cuyo proceso comprende someter a células o tejidos de Eucalyptus a una transferencia en un medio de Agrobacterium de una secuencia de ADN de interés, inducir la formación de vástagos en células o tejidos transformados, y seleccionar material de planta transformado, la inducción de la formación de vástago es llevada a cabo en presencia de N-(2-cloro-4-piridil)-N'-fenilurea u otra fenilurea y seleccionar los vástagos transformados a ser llevados a cabo, por ejemplo, en la presencia de geneticina (G-418). El proceso es particularmente útil para la transformación de un material clonal derivado directa o indirectamente de un árbol maduro de Eucalyptus.
