ALFRED HEALD, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA, ASSIGNOR TO HUGH MGOALLUM, ORLANDO GREASE, ANDREW J. SLOAN, AND \VILLIAM MGOALLUM, OF SAME PLACE.
DESiGN FOR CARPET.
Specification forming part of Design No. 8,919, dated January 18, 1876; application filed January 7, 1576. [Term of Patent 3} years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALFRED HEALD, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, have invented or produced a Design for a Carpet-Pattern, of which the following is a specification:
The accompanying photographic iilnstra tion represents sufficient of a carpet-pattern to show my design, which consists of three figures, A, B, and 0. The figure A has a cen tral ornament, a, two waved bands, b, encircling the same, and a scalloped border, (1, provided with foliated ornamentation of a character too clearly shown to need description. The figure B has a central ornament, e, which is surrounded by a ground, f, consisting ofiine work, and containing foliated ornaments comprising leaves, stems, and blossoms. The figure 0 occupies the space between the figures Aand B, and has a central three-leaved ornament, g, and serrated ends.
Irrespective of the colors employed, I clai m- 1. The design for the figure A, comprising the central ornament a, waved encircling bands b, and scalloped and foliatcd border (1, as shown and described.
2. The design for the figure B, comprising the central ornament e, and encircling groundwork f, with its foliated ornaments, as shown and described.
3. The design for the figure O, with its central ornament g and serrated ends, as shown and described.
4. The design for the whole pattern, including the figures A, B, and O.
