Be it known that I, GARRETT E. CARIIART, of Washington city, District of Columbia, have invented a Design for an Advertising Desk or Table, of which the following is a specification:

The nature of my design is fully represented in the accompanying drawing, to which reference is made.

D represents the desk or table proper. B is the upright back of the same, composed of three frames joined together, one above the other, and represented by U C C, the lower one, or C, beinga parallelogram nearly as long as the desk or table D,and the height of which is about one-seventh ofits length, and is subdivided into tive divisions or spaces, two on each side, of equal dimensions, with a largerspaee or division in the center. 0" is a square frame, the length of one side being about one-third less than the length of U, and, when joined to C forms ofi'sets on each end, which I ornament with carved or sawed scrolls, similar in style, as shown by d d, and is also snbdivided into twelve parts, arranged as shown, so as to make the center division or space 00' cnpy about onethird of the width of the frame 0, and about threefourths of the height, in which I have a looking-glass or mirror. On

top of G" I also have a parallelogramshaped frame, 2", which made about one-halt'the length of Q", and, when attached to (F,t'or1ns oti'sets,as below, which I ornament in the same manner, and I also place a similar ornament on the top, made in any suitable design, to give the whole a finished appearance. The frames 0 U" U are then joined together to form one frame, and then properly secured to the desk or table 1), thus forming a desk or table with an upright back, ornamented and arranged as shown.

I am aware that desks or tables have been made for this purpose. and I do not claim anything new on the desk; but the principal feature of my design consists in the shape and formation of the upright back, the subdivisions and ornamentations ot the same, and the location ot'the glass or mirror.

\Vhat I claim as my invention is- A design for a desk or table with an upright back, subdivided into spaces or divisions, and ornamented substantially as shown and described.
