Specin'oation forming part of Letters Patent No. 167,411, dated September 7, 1875; application tiled August 17, 1875.
To all whom it may conce'rn Be it known that I, CHARLES ROWLAND, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvcments in Napkin -Holders; and I do hereby declare that the following is afull and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanyin g drawings, making a part of this application.
My invention relates to the construction of napkin-holders.
lt has for its object to provide a holder, which shall have enibodied in its construction a receptacle for a small bouquet, so that the napkin-holder shall present a pleasing efi'eot, and serve as an ornament for the table.
VVit-h this object in view, my invention consists of a napkin-holder adapted to receive and retain a napkin, and containin g in its organization asuitable receptacle or support for a small bouqnet, and a proper flat sup porting-ba-se;

I propose making my improved holder in one piece and of glass, which may be varied in design or colors, or ornamcnted in any optional manner, thongh, of course, I do not Wish to limit myself to the material employed in its construction.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
As a new article of manufacture, a napkinholder provided with a suitable rcceptacle adapted to hold a bouquet, and having a suitable sustaining-base for maintaining the holder in position, as hereinhefore set forth.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention, I have hereunto set my hand this 7th day of August, 1875.
