DESIGN FOR VASE-PEDESTAL.
Specification forming part of Design No. 8,325, dated May 11, 1875; application filed Apiil 2-1, 1875. [Term of Patent 7 years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM TWEEDDALE, of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for a Pedestal for n Vase or Fountain, of which the following is a specification:
The nature of my design is fully represented in the accompanying print, to which reference is made.
The capital has an 055% molding, a, at the top, below which are two narrow plain bands, 1/, and a wide one, o, and below these are two deep flutes or grooves, d, and a plain band, 0, at the bottom of the capital. The sides are paneled, and the panels ornamented with flowers f and floral arch g. In a recess in each corner is a column having a corint-hian capital, h, leaf ornaments i is, hands j, bosses l, and fluted conical base m. The base of the pedestal has a fluted molding, n, and oncemolding, 0, and the latter is ornamented by the scroll and leaf ornaments p.
I claim- The design for a pedestal, composed of the following elements: First, the ogee molding a, plain bands I) c, flutes or grooves 11, and plain band a, to form the capital; second, the flowersf and floral arch g for the panels; third, the corner columns, having the corinthian capital h, leaf ornaments i 7:, bands j. bosses I, and the fluted conical base m,- fourth, the base, having the fluted molding" 12,0gee molding o, and the scroll and leaf ornaments p, all as described, and represented in the accompanying print.
