Be it known that 1, JAMES PHIPPS, of Philadelphia, county of 1]niladelphiai,1 State of Pennsylvania, have invented a Design for Nubia, of which the following is a speeiiieation:

The figure in the accompanying drawing clearly illustrates my design for a nubia, the principal features of which are the border A, and stripe or stripes B, upon a` ground work 1), of plain open-knitted loops of the character commonly used for nubius.

The border A is composed of e series o1" waved or scalloped threads` n, preferablyv eoaser than the threads of the body ofthe fabric, and interlocked with the latter as name to this specification in the presence ol' two subscribing witnesses.
